    installing oem fogs on a SE with roof only, do i need a harness?

    I spoke with a parts guy and he couldn't find any info on fog lite installation part requirements. He told me the fogs would cost $100 bucks but couldn't tell me what else i'd have to buy to make it work. I'm trying to figure out if adding fogs to an SE/roof would be cheaper than getting the roof/nav/fog package on a SE. If it ends up being less than $500 bucks difference, i may just get the package. Anyone know total fog install price for a SE?

    Do you have the part number for the foglights? (housings)

    the part guy found the lites okay, but couldn't guide me to the "total" cost of materials. i was hoping one of the sales/parts guys on the forum could point me in the right direction. the lites came with no harness/wiring. i'm assuming i need the harness but can't make a decision on which package i buy on the SE until i get the total price of fog lite materials. no rush, we're buying in march.

    No they are part numbers for the lights. Im still trying to find a number for the wiring.

    I did a search and found a website that has the entire kit, with part numbers, but says it will not be available until January 2012. It had all the part numbers too. I just can not remember for the life of me where it was! I will keep looking, and if I find it, will post up.

    The chrome moldings (the two numbers ending in 2ZZ) are the same with or without fogs, so you should not need them unless you damage them during the swap.

    I do not yet. VW has the harness' on order, but they have not arrived yet. ETA is December, but no exact time of the month yet. Total price for all parts to do the swap is $462.20.

    Based on the instructions, there are some wires that need to be relocated or added to plugs. That being said, it won't be a strict plug and play, so it really comes down to your mechanical ability. I can send the pdf of the instructions to you if you like.

    Thanks for the support Bud!! Placed order for fogs.... already have euro switch, now just need that harness to come out... in the meantime I will install (and take pics) of the fog install.

    I am a ;itte confused, does the light have a piece of the lower grill attached? Does anybody have a picture of the fog light being sold by VW to compare?

    You have to add the fogs and change out the lower grilles.
