The weather was warm enough over the last 2 nights that I decided to do ****, although not get my hands on too many metallic tools. So I figured I'd say goodbye to my burned and stained interior. Excluding seats, which I plan on getting rid of anyway. Went to find some plaid with orange in it, to match the winter wheels and dash accents, but found none.... Erf. So I ended up liking this scottish green :

Having never removed a single piece of trim in my current car or messed with cloth since highschool, I decided to try my hand at upholstery and sewing (shift boot)

First I did the most obvious piece : the arm rest. Here is before :

    And after :

Second thing I tried (mistake) was this :

Looks decent from the visible side, but I'm not happy with the back. I have to try new techniques on these, they are a pita.

So I gave that up and jumped into the sewing. The shift boot was also in terrible shape, so I ripped it out, removed all the stitches and thread and then it was all easy from there. However, the sewing machine is the most complicated piece of machinery on this planet, and trying to make it work being blazed is extremely difficult. But then I drove down to my mom's and she MADE MAGIC MACHINE WORK'D.

Still isn't perfect (or centered now that I look at that pic...) but quite happy with it nonetheless.

So back to the trim... Pillars came next, and that worked out great.

Now as I was getting used to how the whole upholstery shenanigans, I tackled the headliner. I thought to myself "Hmm, you should have gotten fabric with some stretch in it, dumbass." Smacked myself in the head, but finished. It isn't perfect ; the fabric wouldn't sink perfectly into all of the cavities. It did turn out good enough for me to leave it alone. I know what's wrong with it, but I figure it would be hard to just notice for anybody else.

Still have a bunch of stuff to do, and all the remaining plastic will be painted construction orange. Kind of a theme going on...

I have been having a Stalling issue when coming to a stop or Downshifting to go around a corner. It will idle rough, spttuer and then stall. I can smell fuel like its running rich but has a p0170 code which is odd cause I would think thats a lean code????. I Probally have it dropped off to my buddies shop for him to look at is cause I am going out of town for the weekend and I will let my wife use my MKV while I am gone
