I decided to sell the Rabbit I had been building to pick this one up off a buddy of mine. She's an '82 Rabbit with a 1.6 na diesel that he brought over from Cali (it was a barn house find). She is also my daily beater, relieving my mk2 vrt. Anyways, enough with the story and onto her transformation.

    Exterior: Mahogany

    Interior:

Engine: Ported head and larger fuel injectors

super nice, what injectors did you use? u should open up the plastic on the intake, that is a huge bottle neck, especially if u have a ported head.

haha thanks! I'm not too sure on the brand/size of the injectors, but I do know they have Mercedes needles in them so that it could run bio diesel...

Thanks! Being that low, there's much more to worry about other than the duckbill The car was re-sprayed its original Mahogany.

Surprisingly, I have had zero issues with the spoiler being that low. I'm used to it being that low on my mk2 as well though lol

It's an 020 5 speed, not sure whether an ff or fn, or .76 or .71. Since I bought the car already with the larger injectors, I'm not sure what kind of power/mileage to compare it to, as this is also my first diesel lol the PO said it should be making about a whopping 65hp, but I'm not sure

    You just want that VR

It's amazing what those coils and wheels did for the car.

    From this:

Night and day really. Seeing mk1's like yours is what makes me want to have one of my own eventually.

I have not heard of bigger injectors for an idi diesel. I do not think you have "bigger" injectors as you have been mislead.. maybe even your friend was mislead. It is a stock Bosch injector with a Mercedes nozzle/tip on it. Which if you search for it, has been argued to be redundant. The spray pattern of the Mercedes nozzle is different than the Volkswagen one, and does not match the pre-chambers of your Volkswagen head. Probably a little high on your power guess as well it has the stock intake, does it have the stock 1.5" exhaust as well? If it does I wouldn't be surprised if it were still at the stock 52hp.

Put your bumpers back on They'll total that car for the smallest accident. (they being the insurance companies.)

To be honest, I couldn't tell you much more on the fuel injectors. It has a 2" exhaust, with a port and polished head, making a supposed 74whp. Don't shoot the messenger though, this is what I have been told lol As for bumpers, they're coming (not that they would actually protect anything lol)! I just don't whether to bite the bullet on rabbitparts' small metal euros or have some fabbed up.
