Well, I'm going on month number 4. I got the 6 month plan, and I honestly don't know how much longer I'll be playing. It's fun and all, but the questing gets boring, the combat is mind numbing, and now with the legacy system, the alt-aholics are now so OP it's not even funny.
I will say the game is absolutely great, it's just not exactly my style anymore.
GW2 has me absolutely floored, and I'm probably going to order the CE for that.

I stopped playing as well... I lasted 2 months, I tried it again this month and only lasted 3 days. It seems like a lot of other people are doing the same, because lots of planets had 1/3 of the people that were usually on them now.
Quick thoughts on why it sucks...
PvP on servers are highly one sided... there are a lot of people joining the dark side... on my server it was a 5 to 1 ratio. It would either be frustrating to be good and boring to be bad because there is a lack of people to be found, or if you were good you were constantly being gang raped. I think I found 5 battles from level 1-45 in the open world as the dark side.
PvP one vs one takes too long, you are literally fighting for 3 minutes to kill someone. I think kills should be a lot shorter so your choices in PvP become more important than just hitting buttons as they cool down.
PvE sucks as well... becomes very repetitive. (Go here, oh now kill 30 of these guys, okay, now come back)
Auction house is useless.... nothing sells for a decent price so I just ended up selling 90% of my stuff to venders.
Dialogue is to long.... I listened to what quest givers had to say from level 0-20 but then I realised there wasn't really much to listen to unless it was a class quest.
Overall, I was really impressed for the first 30 levels, but after that it just went downhill.

I just renewed my subscription for one month, work is slow right now so I have some extra downtime.
I plan on playing the Secret World once it comes out late June.
I haven't played since December so this will be interesting.

The first sentence of your article:"Electronic Arts Inc plans to offer a big part of its "Star Wars: The Old Republic" online game for free"What is actually happening, mentioned later in the article:"From July, EA will offer 15 "levels" for free, meaning gamers will be able to join and play the beginning phases of the game without paying."Something does not compute, since when is the starting levels considered "a big part" of any MMO?

this game is bombing so unbelievably hard, they are doing anything they can to get people in there
supposedly it's the best single player MMO though.

After playing the Beta for about an hour I figured this was going to crash and burn from the get go.
I was really looking forward to The Secret World because of the classless leveling system and the modern day horror take, but it's been disappoint so far. The control and graphics reminded me of SWTOR and that alone made it un-enjoyable.
And usually your opinion is wrong, but I actually agree with you on this.
I think they spent entirely too much much money on a game figuring the name would carry it.

opinion is usually wrong about what?
that most licensed games are awful?
or that MMO's are almost always nothing but chatroom jank fests?

FTP!?!? I hope so, it will only benifit the game by providing a larger player base. It worked IMO for LOTRO.
This is a great game, it's got great bones, a good foundation, I as many on here am sure, only want to see it succeed.

I've only played to level 10or 11 with a sith warrior and i already skip all the dialogue because it's boring and the only point of it is to get dark/light points and affection from your companion. So far it is very "on rails". Does it open up later and allow you more options with missions? It's all very repetitive like most RPGs: kill x amount of this beast, collect this X, meet X and report back to me, etc. My stepson has been a paying player since day one and i just have to laugh at the money he spent on this. It hardly seems to hold a candle to what i remember of the WOW world and experience. It also seems like you level up much faster than in WOW, i think my stepson said he went from 0-50 in just a few days.

Just wondering...does anyone still play this? The free to play option only allows you to play up to level 15 and then they want you to pay. I installed this out of curiosity and was just wondering if anyone from here is still actively playing the game.

Too bad this game isn't more like Forza. You know, successful and popular.

because you're easy to annoy and take EVERYTHING and yourself so seriously.
and besides, it's fun to make fun of games that are bad. this is the perfect example of a "told ya so" game.

One big downside to FTP is that raids (Operations?) are a premium feature. Bummer... Can't have it all, I guess.

The repetition doesn't stop.
The most annoying part was the bonus missions within a quest.
The quest would originally tell you to go to a certain place, and 100% of the time soon as you killed one guy near the question a Bonus Quest appears and tells you to kill 30 more of those guys. It's okay that they did this, but it was EVERY ****in' time!

I stopped playing it. The repetitiveness of the missions/quests was a bit boring for me.
