The injury to Steve Blake is big but the rookie Morris played well last night. I'd like to see him get minutes even when Blake is back.

And Griffin pushing the rook? I don't know how the refs missed that one but it should have been a technical.

D Fish! The guy may not be able to keep up with the younger point guards in the league but he's dependable and comes through in the clutch.

I really like that Morris is getting a lot of minutes because he's going to have to towards the end of the year to give Fish some rest for the playoffs.

9-6 on the season. Lol, y'all will be 5-6 seed in the West when it's all said and done.

And if Kobe keep jacking shots like he has been, y'all will be out first round of playoffs.

We're 15 games into the season... there's still plenty of time. Most of the guys on this team have been running the triangle offense for years and adjusting to a new system takes time.

Watching this offense is frustrating. Thought the European coach was supposed hired to help with the offense.

    Watching this team is frustrating.

I know that it's been said for years and years but the Lakers really need to upgrade at the point guard. Mitch and the entire rest of the front office need to be on the phones 24/7.

The only hope that the Lakers have is that Fisher and Walton retire after this season and get that $9.5 million off the books.

If Howard doesn't go to NJ (either before the trading deadline or during the free agency after the season), there is a chance D-Will may go play for LA; he has Lakers, Mavs, and Knicks (in no order of preference, by the way) panned on his wish list. He had wanted LA (Clippers) previously, until Paul got there first.

Deron Williams would be an awesome guy to bring in but who knows if the Lakers will have the money to sign him. Kapono and Murphy were both one year contracts and the only other expiring contracts that the Lakers have are Barnes ($1.9 million), Ebanks, and Caracter. And Ebanks and Caracter are coming off of their rookie contracts so both of them are making under $1 million.

That contract that Metta World Peace has is killing the Lakers. They really should have used that amnesty clause on him before the season started.

Nick Van Exel was my favorite player of all time. Man that video makes me miss those days. I had posters and clippings from SLAM and Sports Illustrated all over my bedroom.

the video is blocked here at work, but im assuming its about the late 90s lakers. i always thought it was the best team ever (except for the fact they couldnt beat the jazz ). my second alltime favorite laker ever (magic will always be #1) is eddie jones. ...i still have a bunch of his rookie cards. i wonder if theyre worth anything these days.

    eddie! eddie! eddie! eddie! eddie!

It's a video of the '97 Lakers; what they call the original lob city.

Hell of a game last night. I'd say it was the best Lakers/Clippers game ever. I really hope these teams meet in the postseason.

dell harris handicapping the young kobe by not giving him enough burn/experience during the regular season to help when it mattered....in the playoffs.

was this the same season that Ced Ceballos went waterskiing instead of showing up for a game?

you cant blame the coach for not giving a rookie all that playing time during the season, especially on a great team. hes gotta earn his minutes (i actually hated kobe back then). you CAN blame del harris however, for giving kobe all those minutes against the jazz during the playoffs. i have no idea why he was even playing at the end of those games. those 4 straight 25+ foot airballs continue to haunt me in my dreams

yup good ol' ceballos. then we traded him to phoenix for towel-throwing horry ....i thought ceballos was an underrated player. he was a beast on the offensive glass, and a great finisher inside. too bad we didnt get to see him play alongside shaq too much that year due to injuries, etc.
    bazinga!

it's a miracle...the Lakers score 100pts and they win on the road. Woooooo!

I'll temporarily overlook the fact that they blew an 18pt lead.

on a side note, Goudelock has been looking good the past few games and Kobe's wrist looked strong tonight.

This Lakers team has been frustrating me to the point where I just needed to take a game off. I watched the pilot of Alcatraz with the girlfriend and saw on my Facebook feed that they had blown an 18 point lead and then turned it on with less than a minute remaining. Even the end of this game was frustrating.

Goudelock has been looking good the past few games which is a huge plus with Blake out. But Bynum needs to start hitting free throws.

I heard that on Mason and Ireland this afternoon. I wonder who they would trade away to get him...

I also heard that the Lakers are looking to bring in Gilbert Arenas. I don't understand why they would do this. I think that we all agree that it would take a lot for the Lakers to win it all this season so why bring in another key who has had serious knee issues and is old? Ireland argued that it wouldn't be so bad if Arenas was brought in solely as Kobe's backup and only took those minutes but I don't know. I just saw they give Goudelock more playing time and let him develop.

In addition to a point guard the Lakers really need a backup for Kobe.

I really, really hope so because if not this trip is going to be killer.

I'm also really liking Goudelock. The kid is playing with tons of confidence and is adding some much needed scoring off the bench. I hope Steve Blake doesn't take too much playing time away from him when he returns.

And man am I glad they were able to beat the Bobcats. The only other team the Lakers have a losing record against is the Boston Celtics.

Just read that the Lakers are interested in signing Kenyon Martin. And if they are unable to do that they may pursue Rasheed Wallace.

I understand the thought process that this team needs to improve the roster but getting older just isn't the way to do it.

kmart wouldnt be bad. this team lacks athleticism, though im not sure how athletic kmart still is after all his injuries and after coming off an extended vacation. id also be a little worried with team chemistry, because isnt kmart somewhat a diva?......i dunno about rasheed. didnt he retire due to injuries and just plain being old?

im all in on ramon sessions though

I'd be willing to bring in K-Mart just so Wallace doesn't come in. Wallace retired like two years ago and can't be in good shape right now.

I'm all in for Sessions as well.

PS: Congrats to Bynum on his first All-Star selection!

Except new jersey doesn't really need a big man. Humphries does well enough, and a healthy Brook Lopez is a player to build around. And besides, it would take both Gasol and Bynum to land Howard.
I'm up for signing agent zero or trading for a shooter.

I still think this a terrible idea. Once Blake comes back and starts taking minutes away from Goudelock at the point guard spot you can use Mini Mamba at the 2 behind Kobe. Gilbert Arenas isn't going to be playing much longer so why waste money on him as a rental?

I just read that the Cavs want a first round pick in exchange for Sessions. The Lakers have a first rounder from Dallas that is top 20 protected.
