My new 2012!

Got a 3.6 SEL Prem/Nav mid Oct... now how do I post pics?? I don't see the manage/add attachment link as the FAQs describe!

Overall very happy with the car so far. It is replacing a 2004 V6 4Motion.... had the new car itch and was able to talk the wife into upgrading (and she's getting a 2012 Tiggy, SEL Prem/Nav as well)... ditching a 08 Town and Country that we both hate. Too bad she's got to wait for her Tiggy to get here while I get to enjoy my Passat! Was supposed to be here mid-late Nov, and has since slid to Dec 5 then Dec 12th.... hopefully to have the RVC installed as I heard some SELs came without on the Tigs.

I do still have the 04 as we are putting both it and the van against hers (to offset what is owed on the van)... once I get back from a work trip I will get pics of the 2012 Passat next to the 2004 Passat. But I do have some of the 2012 by itself I want to put up now.

Still no manage attachments in my message typing view? Good thing I remembered about an old webpage space that an old college leaves open to lifetime use! Figured out pics via links, here are some more... will get some of the two Passat's together when I get back from travel.

TY Miff. Can't wait to get the shots from both together.... they really do look nice... wish I didn't have to get rid of the 04 GLX 4MO when her Tiggy gets here!

Anyone in Hawaii wanna hook me up with some VAGCOM time to do the wiper mods and maybe others? Going to see if the dealer can do it here at the courtesy 1st vehicle checkup, but not holding my breath.

Now to wait on some replies on the RVC addition post to see if I am going to do that to my 2012!

Oh, and figure out a way to not pay ridiculous shipping on the Euro Style Light Switch! I love Hawaii, but hate it at times (like buying things online)

Updated with the 2004 and 2012 together.... traded in the 04 today for a 2012 Tiguan. Next pic project will be to get the two 2012s together.

These files were a different camera, and they come out large here embedded..... so just click on them to see the 04 Passat next to the 12 passat

I really like the 2004...but I'm wondering...if you live in Hawaii, what was the need for the 4Motion

Just a guess here but it does snow in Hawaii, on top of the volcanoes. Also there is a lot of rain in Hawaii....makes everything beautiful and green! If I remember correctly it rains rights at 2 PM each day for 20 minutes.

Pacnorthwest for 6 years prior to Hawaii. The 4MO was a Washington state neccessity, not Hawaii!

Nice passat looks like mine except for spoiler. Nice Tig also I really like the wheels on it. I have been thinking about those wheels on my passat but really looked into it. So I dont know if they will fit. Anyway congrats on the new rides.

Yeah, I just noticed the base stickers and wanted to acknowledge your service. I was an EW and have been out for about 9 years now.

When the weather is nice again, I am going to redo this pose so you can tell the difference in the front & rear windows better..... bet you wont be able to see that bit of opposite street front side walk through the windows now.

$20, hook, speed nut, screw. Figure on the SEL they would of had this small feature? Nope... well it does now!

1x 1k5-867-615-a (hook)
2x n-106-663-02 (screw)
2x n-906-987-03 (speed nut)

Be cautious about ordering off some other sites, some list different parts as need with the 1K5... i.e. different screw and speed nut parts.... the above was as per my parts dept as what was listed as needed in the 2012 accessory catalog for the Passat to make the all around 1K5 hook install.

Only one... upper left (drivers side) of trunk. I know some other models have one on each side.

Through my dealership parts dept. Small items like this just kill me for shipping even if it's cheaper online.... I live in hawaii... Most place at best is a min 8.95 priority mailer. Even though it could fit in a smaller mailer. Plus when I did the online research I was coming up with different screw and speed nut numbers. This one turned out to be the metal clip speed nut, not the plastic push in square type. Install took longer to roll up the extension cord to the drill than to do the work! Beware it is a T20 bit not screw, make sure you have the correct tools if you do it yourself.

Adding older pics to this thread. Need to get some Other pics taken as I have had the air deflectors and a few other things added for a while now.

Headrests out and car seat match to replace a puzzle piece of three different models. No, triplets, just three under 6.... Oldest is going to have his switched to booster / shoulder mode soon vice car seat / 5 point harness mode... Love convertible seats!

Updates... Ditched the Hankooks after 27500 mile, put on Conti Extreme Contact DWS's.

Also added Toureg / JSW 'luggage lamp' to the center trunk beam.
