The aux pump has nothing to do with the regular water pump problems. The Aux pump only runs when you shut-off a hot engine, to circulate water thru the turbo housing to reduce oil-coking in the turbo bearing.

Second replacement pump is now making the whistling noise again. I'm not sure if I should bring it to the dealership before my 6 hour trip to Vermont or not. Should I just deal with it until VW has an actual fix? I just don't understand how EVERY 2011-2012 GTi doesn't have this problem.

My 2010 CC 2.0T has a BA rev pump, 29,000 miles, no noise or leaks. My 2012 CC 2.0T has a BA rev pump, started making the squeel noise at idle, when warm, when the car had about 400 miles on it. Now the car has 4900 miles, and the noise is gone.

Sorry to say man but i'm sure it will need to be replaced again. I'm bringing my car in on Monday. for my 3rd replacement. VW is having someone come down from VWOA to take a look at my car this time. The representative also said she has seen cases were they have modified the water pump.

My original pump lasted for 40,000 miles. We will see how long this one goes.

They couldn't reproduce the sound with is complete bs. I think there pretty much tired of replacing the wp knowing that I will be back in a few hundred miles for another. The service rep told me that i may just have to wait until VW issues a recall.

Yea that's why it took me so long to get my first one done b/c they couldn't hear it or the car wasn't whining so one time I pulled into the dealer and it was whining and I told them not to shut it off until I got the tech out there. Such a pain, anyway good luck trying to get the dealer to fix it for you and keep us updated. I sure hope VW comes out with something soon b/c supposidly they have been working on a fix.

I have recently taken the radiator cap off after running the car hard to relive pressure in the system and have not had the sound come back for 3 days now.
