added another oem+ goody. i dont why but it seriously bothered me that the car only came with one trunk hinge cover. I appreciate vw hiding the wiring harness but i like symmetry. with my employee discount it only cost me 12 bucks to add one to the passenger side.

Fendermender, nice car and perhaps a stupid question,
i'm getting my europe TDI the end of march and forgot to check one thing ( must have been to busy looking at the cars body and forgot about the tech aspects):
does the trunk automatically opens with the remote? And I don't mean can I unlock it, but does it actually pops up?

It unlocks if you press trunk button on the remote. It opens if you hold it.

thanks asusc for fielding all my questions while im away also if the trunk doesnt pop up enough for your liking you can adjust the tension on the springs by moving them to a different hole. i think there is a diy on here somewhere

I installed the second set of buttons to the right side of my steering wheel (removed them from a Tiguan wheel) and they now control the Mini-MFA in the instrument cluster. The left and right arrow buttons don't do anything because it was made for a full MFA, but the point is, I didn't need to modify any coding. I plugged it in and it worked. Having said that, my car came equipped with the first set of buttons, so i'm not sure if your install would be as easy, but I guess it's only a matter of plugging it on and pressing the buttons!

Would you happen to have the part number on hand for that passenger side trunk arm cover? That is so cool!

I believe the module is the portion in the steering wheels lower center.
Let me know how install goes.

I did a gli wheel paddle shift upgrade (controls on left and right) and right hand controls don't do a thing.

left works, paddles work, but right side: useless. I believe canadian models have fuel consumption so the mfd actually has something to toggle

Distance to empty, average fuel consumption, real time fuel consumption, outside temp, and I believe a trip stopwatch. I only use the distance to empty and temp feature, so the rest of the options escape me at the moment.

    It's official. You're a jerk.

I've had my car for almost three months now and this never bothered me until now. I went out to my trunk today for the first time since seeing your post and now it bugs the **** out of me.

i finally got together every thing i need to relocate my power steering reservoir to the passenger side so i can start on my CAI

a slightly modified reservoir from a B5 passat, custom mount bracket CNCed out of one piece aluminum, VW genuine P/S fluid, a few feet of rubber hose, and extra oe hose clamps and mount clamps

    [IMG]IMG_0417[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0419[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0418[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0421[1][/IMG]

and my donor MKV BSH intake that i'll modify to work on my MKVI. Im gonna shave the MAF, and add a bracket to mount to the frame rail.

    [IMG]IMG_0422[1][/IMG]

hopefully i'll have this done tomorrow if i dont run into any snags.

I decided on running metal lines instead of rubber so i wasnt able to move my p/s reservoir last weekend but in the meantime i revised the holder for my trunk mat and some other stuff.

    [IMG]IMG_0423[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0424[1][/IMG]

Also while i had it out i lined the whole thing with jute ( which is whats underneath your carpet)
for a little extra sound deadening

    [IMG]IMG_0425[1][/IMG]

added a grocery bag hook which luckily didnt interfere with my ar-15 rack

    [IMG]IMG_0428[1][/IMG]

    black coolant reservoir cap

    [IMG]IMG_0429[1][/IMG]

and finally ditched the felt battery cover for the plastic battery box

i started on my P/s reservoir today, hit a few snags in process but ill have it done this week

removed the old one and the return line that mounts to the front of the motor
    [IMG]IMG_0431[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0433[1][/IMG]

then i cut off and flared the piece of the thin line that runs on the outside of the frame rail so it wont interfere with my intake.

    [IMG]IMG_0435[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0436[1][/IMG]

the reservoir mounted in its new home

    [IMG]IMG_0439[1][/IMG]

ive pretty much got the pressure side all done im just waiting on a part to finish the return side which should be here wednesday so in the meantime i test fitted my intake

    [IMG]IMG_0437[1][/IMG]

    [IMG]IMG_0438[1][/IMG]

ive still have to shave the MAF and fabricate a mount bracket to mount in to the under side of the frame rail but at least i know there is enough room for it.

    3C0915335 - Trim Rear - $24.30
    3C0915336A - Trim Front - $24.30
    3C0915443A - Trim Top - $19.80

the battery box is from a mkV jetta. its a direct fit i did have to cut a small piece out of the back piece for the negative cable but other than that its good to go. its three pieces altogether... not sure of the part numbers buit what verebs put is probably right
