Track Days NorCal 2012 - The ongoing list.

2012’s event list is already coming together! The organizers have begun to post their preliminary event schedules. The list is organized chronologically and does not include autocross events or drag strip events.

This list is generated from organizations that I am aware of that have published their tentative 2012 schedules. All of this information is subject to change, and I am also aware that there are clubs that I have not included in this list. If folks want to post up dates/tracks/organizations that they know of, then I’d be happy to include that information in the list via an edit of the original post.

As usual costs, registration information, requirements and track configurations (unless configurations are published by the host organization) information will not be included in this post and should be researched by contacting the organizations sponsoring the events directly.

I’ll modify the original post as the information becomes available, changes or as other users alert me to updates and corrections.

I was supposed to go to Thunderhill for a NCRC track day a couple years ago (never went to a track day before), but can't go due to work. Just wondering if there's any sort of affordable track day for Infineon Raceway. Will be nice if there's one.

Sears Point can be pretty tough in terms of pricing. Look for SpeedVentures and TMR events there rather than NASA. I'll try to provide more updates to the list this weekend.

You are welcome! I think that we are all hoping, given the current state of the economy, that the tracks will be setting their price points for event track rental lower in 2012 as a means of attracting more organizers to establish track events. The organizers are always at tremendous risk when they commit to a schedule, which can also create hesitance to post an official or tentative schedule. Personally, I only made it to one event in 2011. Hoping 2012 will be kinder.

Thanks for the list Drew. I also only made one event last year, but hope to get a couple in this Spring. I'm only 65 miles from Chuckwalla, but have boycotted them because of their pricing. How they figure they can charge $175 a day when they have nothing there plus no place to stay or eat for 62 miles, is beyond me. I don't understand why Speedventures doesn't insist they lower prices until they offer what the other tracks have.

Mike and Mike: I'll add the TMR info as well as the Audi Club data. That is sad to hear about Chuckwalla. Pricing has been odd in 2011 and 2012. Tracks either figure out their base price to attract more events or make more money with fewer events. I always like it when a track actually realizes that by doing more volume at a lower price they make more repeat clients.

There are a bunch of OG's going to the NCRC event at Laguna Seca Oct 21. Mostly from SoCal! I'll be there, and most of us are camping at the track the Saturday night before the event. Join us if you can!

Way cool; I'll look for you. NASA events can be crazy to find someone but I am almost always the only MKI TT on the track. I'll be running in Group 3 both Sat and Sun.
