I don't understand the point of instagram and its useless. It takes longer to load than the camera app on my phone and iPod. And a lot of phones today have effects built into their camera apps (excluding the I Phone) that give you the same options that instagram does. If you in to taking pictures with effects buy a camera they have more effects anyways and the photos you take with the camera are going to be so much better than the ones taken on a cell phone camera because the camera has so many more options and are better suitable for practically any situation.

Not sure how you can determine that it is useless and admit you don't understand it in the same sentence.

Its a great way to share your photos with different social media networks and it allows you to throw a quick filter on a photo to capture the feeling or atmosphere you want to portray. I work as an event photographer and while I own my fair share of nice cameras, I still pull out my iphone to snap a few photos at each event. You know why? Because to get the same effects on my DSLR I need a computer and software and to share it I need to find an internet connection. We are a culture that likes its info and media available for instant consumption. Embrace it, or decide that its not for you, no need to QQ over something just because you personally have not found a use for it.

Ya I'm with you, I don't understand the appeal of following someones over processed cell phone pics. I guess this thread is evidence people do it though, or at least they try to get people to do it.

sounds like you might be following the wrong people then.

there are some really talented folks on there, and not all are phone pics.

I find it fun and interesting to see random stuff from around the world. maybe try the explore feature on a random hashtag and you might find something more appealing to you.
