Happy 4th of July to me. Went to put a propane tank in my back seat and I hit the side on my car with it. First dent. At least I was the one to do it. Was able to clean it up and rub out the scratches so it doesn't look so bad. Just mad I did it.

ouch!! i would be sooooo pissed. i have a slightly similar story: the very week i got my car and drove to my best friend's house for the first time to show it off, dump truck on the highway wasn't tarped properly and sent little gravel pebbles flying behind it... got to my friends house and there it was, small nick in the bumper. i was upset.

Maybe one of those paintless dent repair places can take care of that. I've good luck with those folks before.

It's kinda in a weird place to do a paintless dent repair. I think I might just have to live with it. You can't see it all that much now. Not right away anyway.

I know if your buying its different, but since I'm only 23 and I was tired of driving older cars I walked to my VW dealer and they wanted $204 a month $0 down for a base Passat lease, and $240 for the SE I got. Candy white, heated seats, and all that crap. A guy I know got a 2012 Passat base and the car just does not look new. Thank god you put those wheels on. They really make a big difference in how the car looks but how is the ride? I wondered how the 16 inch wheels rode compared to the SE's 17's. I'm debating fogs and maybe the SEL chrome but I'm not too sure yet. I do have the option to buy it at the end of the lease but I would probably rather lease another VW and make them give me a crazy deal on a 2015 Golf R or maybe Passat wagon if we ever get one here in the states.

I am sure the car drives the same with the 18" vs the 16" you just feel more of the road with the bigger tires. I am okay with that. You would never know my car was an "S" w/ App if you didn't look close enough because of the wheels. Sounds like you got a great deal on your lease. I am paying 2x the price you are paying for my lease. I had a few other things they had to work around so if couldn't be lower. I like my Passat now but still unsure if I want to keep it or trade in for another lease when it comes time. If I do I will get the same color in a TDI. It would be sweet to have a TDI one day. My Dad wanted the TDI but did not want to wait for it so he got the SE. I just wish I had better seats in my Passat. Seems like I am always trying to find the right seat position. (It's sucks being tall sometimes) I feel like the stering wheel doesn't go down far enough. Idk. Even after the little things I am happy with it.

I figure after 3 years of leasing making payments on time and leasing another VW they might give me a better deal on the next VW I lease 3 years down the road. Originally I wanted a TDI Jetta or TDI Golf with a stick but I saw my Passat in the showroom and kinda fell in love once they told me the price I was sold.

OK, it's totally personal preference so it's your call, but that particular one...ehh, not so much. What does the one on the left side say?

I'm on vacation renting a base S (I mean REALLY base, with steel wheels), but it's a pretty solid car. It's a bit bigger than our VWs at home, but it manages to drive "smaller" than its apparent size. Yeah, I can see why a rag named it COTY last year.

Enjoy your ride, those wheels do transform the looks. Maybe I should take a pic of my rental to make every S owner feel better.

I may keep them on for maybe a month. The other sticker says #occupybigbear I think the car looks cleaner without stickers. I love the car and I love to show my VW love.

I'm guilty of a few stickers too. The heart ones are on my wife's Tig, the rest on my Passat (she's got a vw sticker family on her Tig too).

Very very glad you enjoy your car. We work unbeleivably stupid long hours here at the plant. Its nice to see some appreciation . I or a friend of mine (one or the other) installed and fit one or more of your doors. As far as stickers go......
Keep posting more about your car. Id love to see any additional mods you do. My friend has the SEL V6 and is looking for options as far as modding one. .
