Ordered my clutch cable, throttle cables and new shifter/brake pegs this morning... Still shopping to see which brake line I like the best, most likely going with Russell. There stuff is really good quality and looks pretty bad ass. Down to seat and slip ons. I think that will take care of all the larger money items.

I could post new pics, but it wouldn't be of any progress. I have been doing lots of home improvements and still just waiting on parts. Once my wheel is in, I am sure I will have a bit of motivation to get my front end suspension together, air ride buttoned up and get the bike on the ground under its own weight.

Well I guess I will post what I accomplished today other than bike workWith some tax money in, we ordered new counter tops about a month ago. They got finished today, its corian. So after they finished the install of the counter top, I had my work to do. Install new drain and faucet, so off to home depot I went.
Started my day out like this(faucet not installed, just in hole for mock up)... What a difference counter tops make, wish I had before pictures.
Opened the cabinet below the sink:
Decided to just cut the drain at the wall and completely redo everything rather then change a few pieces and tweak them. Ended up with this:
Not bad for a stay at home dad/bike tinkerer
Faucet all installed:
Next on the list is paint for the walls and ripping the floor up.
The End:
Well, of the work day anyway... Our kitchen has been out of use for over a week, been eating out daily! Roast beef dinner tonight and lots of beer!!!![]()

new counters.... hell yes. just saw your other bike on craigslist. wish i had the extra dough, i love that thing. you know how houses are, all my extra money goes into that.
i still wanna see that front wheel. oh and some more pics.
#46
Ya, I love the bike. It's one of those things that for the right price I will sell it and move onto a new toy. Certainly not giving it away, I have tons and tons of hours invested into the bike aside from all the money. I'd love a hot/rat rod project that way I could enjoy it with my family as well. I haven't got one response since I listed it. I think most look at it as a $10,000 sportster and im on drugs haha. I think a lot of people just don't realize how easy the costs add up when replacing everything on a bike, minus the actual motor/chassis.
I'll get to some pics soon, like I said though. Not really anything going on at all, I would like to get the front suspension installed and on the bike this coming week. Probably won't happen though, trying to get a few things squared away with my hardtail to bring to an upcoming show in the area. We shall see what pans out this week.
P.S. I love the new counter!!! Cant wait to redo the floor and paint, the kitchen should be pretty baller then if I must say so myself. I think I am going to do stainless tiles on the whole wall between the back splash and lower cabinets. We have a stainless fridge, so it should go well. I think we are going to do a stainless under mount microwave too.

redoing things in the house is always rewarding... especially when you can step back and have beer and enjoy what you accomplished.
funny thing is, i found your bike while i was looking for an old pick up to rod out on craigslist.
i don't mean to derail your thread, just figured i'd keep it from fading into the depths.

Well, here it is. To be honest, I am not super in love with it. The quality is excellent and I think I will like it a lot more when it is mounted on the bike. I think it's due to a bike show that I showed my other bike at this weekend. I got use to looking at a bunch of baggers with 26'' front wheels and got jealous. Im sure I will love it once its on the bike.
And a snap shot from the show this past weekend. Took 1st place for Sportster radical class.

Let's update this thread...
Let me start out by saying, that if anyone is interested in following my page on facebook here is the link:
http://www.facebook.com/Local603Chops
I update my page more frequently. I updated the OP with some new stuff, nothing too major. Making progress slowly, but surely. I just got back last night from a week in FL with the family (might I add, my 2 y/o had a blast and that was awesome to see). Today I went down to the registry to get the plate ordered and register the bike.
So hopefully this will get me going to get everything done now. My list of items to purchase are now very small. I am shooting to have this bike complete by my birthday (May 8th), as that is when I took my hardtail for its maiden voyage and it was a great b-day present.
I dropped some more items off for powder coating before I left to go to FL, will call tomorrow to see the status. Next on the list is to extend and internally wire my 13'' bars. Here are some new pictures, in no particular order.
Arlen Ness big sucker air cleaner. The cover is getting powder coated gloss black and then hand striped
New grips and matching brake/shifter pegs
Front legs back on the bike with 2'' progressive lowering spring installed
This was the old brake pedal:
I cut the big ugly pedal right off. I then shaped it, tapped it and now it is off to be powder coated. It will then have one of the above pictured pegs installed.
New HD badlander seat purchased and I decided to just purchase some new HD saddlebag lids, rather than shave a bunch of holes on my existing lids. Front wheel is also now installed.
Quick mock up to see how the pipes will sit and I am digging them. KlockWorks 4'' super savers. (Just tossed one side on, I still need to fine tune the saddlebags so all my lines are perfectly matched.
Quick mock up of the front fender for some measurements to make brackets.
Hope you are enjoyingMore to come soon

Cheers to all the positive praise above.Craig-O, we will have to meet up this year for a couple cold ones. CycleSource magazine wants to shoot my other bike up in Laconia to do an article on it. I will probably end up spending the week up there and bringing both bikes.
Today's work may not look like much, but I sure am glad to have it out of the way. Only got one side done and then ran out of shrink tube for the other side, so I just called it quits. These are not as easy as internally wiring normal ape hangers, it is not very easy getting the wires through these bars. Should be all set tomorrow after I get some more shrink tubing.

Running wires in the bars sucks...

Especially these bars, I don't mind doing them in normal bars. These weren't insanely more work, but the monkey bars like these are more of a pain in the arse. However, they are all done now and it is all just a memory. I awarded myself 8 mcgillicuddy nips, 2 corona lights, lobster bisque and a fisherman's platter for a job well done
I know this is all boring to most of you, just showing those of you who enjoy/appreciate this kind of stuff.

I'd like to eventually get the setup where the controls are in the left handlebar itself and hide all the wires. It looks sooooo clean, not to mention your bike will probably never be stolen by someone riding it off.![]()

Thanks, I might be doing a big front wheel this winter. I am up in the air right now, I am sick of seeing other bikes around here all raked out with a 26. Makes me feel like a wuss, big bucks though to do it right.
