Just got the new gti with manual AC, everything works fine, except the front defrost, its not blowing air into the windshield.Really frustrating especially for this time of the year.I'm taking it to the dealership, but would really hate if they need to take the dash off.Any clues???

Do you have the vent dial in the center position?

kinda hoping for his sake that doesn't solve things

OP, if you're pressing the defrost button, that only controls the rear window. you have to turn the dial to the 12:00 position

No worries , I wish that was the problem.
Actually, today I'm going to the dealership for the second time.First time I was there, they couldn't say what the problem was. When changing from 3 to 12 o'clock position, computer is showing that everything works fine, that is moving and opening the flap, which is not happening. They suspect maybe the actuator is not hooked up properly.
Not only that, when heating is set to max, it blows hot air for two to three min, and then starts blowing cold.
