Hi Everyone, my name is Dylan, and I just picked up this Golf TDI. I am coming from a 2008 GTI. This is my first brand new car, so its kind of a big deal
I refuse to call this thread a 'build thread' because in all honesty, its not. It probably wont ever be, although maybe some day.

I figured it is more efficient to create a thread about my car, and when I add anything to it, I will simply update the thread.

I Bought from Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Annapolis, Maryland on 12.7.2011. Even though I live on the North Fork of Long Island, New York.

While many of these mods may not happen anytime soon, they are on the list. Mods will be done as funds become available. *End of the year bonus here I come!*

My plans are not to make a show car, but rather a clean, OEM+ daily driver.

It was raining the day I picked up my car. How depressing.

After the 260 mile drive home from Maryland, I wasnt done driving. I continued to drive all the way to the tip of long island traveling around 50mph average for about 20 miles. This was my MPG.

Yeah, thats the highest ive seen yet for me. Car only has about 500 miles on it now, and i have been averaging around 37 around town. Im pretty happy with that.

I def like the gti skirts. As for the sidemarkers, a wiseman once said "Stay Orange". For now, thats how they will stay. Not sure of whats to come though.

TDI's and diesels in general are often called "oil burners." No offense meant. My comment was a complete compliment.

I got the same as you even color and options other then mine is a DSG (don't hate)

So far the most i've gotten is 47mpg and that was on a 150 mile trip on the parkway doing 70mph.



I just got my ECU tuned by Revo on Wednesday, so far I'm loving it!!

Thanks! Yeah I at first wasnt too sure what to think when the salesman told me the car would have a spoiler. Then I saw it and was pretty impressed. Really makes the car look sporty.

I must say, I really want to do the GTI exhaust swap. The car would look so sick!

Yeah man. The US rear bumper has more character than the euro one. You'll have to figure out how to retrofit your proximity sensors though.

Nice man! well if you're going big you need a flat-bottom MFSW, I have one and it's a big improvement!
Also add-in the euro cupholder I put one in and it's the biggest PITA thing I've done yet for such a small item! also the little glovebox latch in aluminum

Yea, must say, I do miss the wheel from my GTI. We'll see how long I last before breaking down....

As for wheels, they actually arent portos, they are Salamancas. Yeah, I must say, I love these wheels. Im sure I will end up changing, but for now, these things rock.

Yeah. We only have the option between a 2.5l 5cyl or the 2.0L 140hp Diesel.
