Also what's the thought behind using multiple wires to run from the abs to the switch? Why not use one wire?

there is only one wire going to the module. I just connected two from the switch to that one wire.

Might want to cross reference it with this info. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...1#post75758920

I know it says NON GLI, but thats because he did it in a "S". I think its still the same of VERY simular. And we did run into AWEs list having the wrong connector for the ABS module.

Autobahn and non-Autobahn will only matter if you've got KESSY.

And it worked in my TDI too. The only issues are if you have kessy or not. Otherwise everything should work just fine.

Yes, you just need to purchase a different switch. Those without kessy are using the left most switch. Youll need to buy one of the center switches. The different part numbers are on AWE's guide. Other than that there shouldnt be any issues.

I too would like to know to anyone who has tried this on a 2012 GLI - If you either install the button to disable, or even if you VCDS the ESP to only kick in after 30kph (http://forums.thecarlounge.com/showt...1#post75791103) would you then be able to use Launch Control?

I know that the GLI is different than the rest of the Jettas so dont be upset if Im wrong. But I know that for my TDI no light actually came on in the dash console. I also noticed that a simple press didnt work. It took a long press (say 3 seconds) and it turned off. The only way I know it works is by trying. Getting the tires to spin and the traction control light to not come on when they are spining is the only indication I have.

The GLI displays a message in the MFD for like 5 seconds.

If you wire it up per Awe's guide it should always be lit up

I just checked the AWE's guide. I dont see any part numbers for different switches. Care to elaborate?

I NEED to do this to my GLI autobahn w/ nav.

I was just running a really curvy back road last weekend. On exit of a quick left then right bend my esp light lit up like crazy and wouldnt let me go full throttle. I had the pedal the floor in second gear but the brakes just pulsated like crazy.

Im planning on doing stage 1 soon but not until i get this esp button done.

Anyone with info on part numbers for us Autobahn w/nav guys would be great.

I still think that you may be able to turn the circle in the engine start/stop button around. But without having one to play with I can not try.

    Check out http://carstyle4you.com/index.php?cPath=16_24_48

They have quite a few more options, even some custom engraved ones. I also have a Autobahn with Nav, and was looking for other switches - and found some great ones in both "end" and "middle" shapes in Verebs1's post on relocating the TPMS and adding ESP button in the DIY area http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...on-DIY-add-ESP - I havent yet ordered them, but he uses them in his post.

I'm about to do this mod and i think I located the grommet mentioned in the AWE instructions. Is it the rubber sheath? How the heck can you see where you are making the cut in the grommet? I can barely see it as it is.

I installed mine with my buddies over at Wolfcars Motorsports here in Miami. It was quick and easy and it works perfectly! YAY! The only thing is that the button is lit up all the time

I have 3 kits available which are wired correctly meaning light is not always on also providing you full dimmability with other interior lights. I should also have those middle buttons in next week.

Installed my switch/button this morning. Pain the butt getting the wire from the engine bay, through the grommet, and into the passenger side footwell. Works well though, with the ESP Off light illuminated in the gauge cluster when I push the button.

That's the iPhone charger from Walmart. I got mine from the "Automotive" section. It's one of the few chargers that will work with the Lifeproof case.
