it might work on a jetta s or se but the gli has a diff wiring harness then the reg jettas. same thing with hids. some would work on jettas but then when u put them in the gli it would trigger a code

It's going to be a trail and error, it really depends on the abs controller wether the pin numbers are same across both models.

i would just open the abs thing up under the hood an see if that spot doesnt have a wire in it if not take a wire and run it to a 12 volt source with the wire in the spot and plugged in. and then while car is on tap the wire onto the positive side of battery. have someone in the car when u do it to see if it says tracion off. u can tap it again to turn it back on or turn car off. if it works then follow awes instructions cuz they should work

Any ideas if this button will fit on Euro 1.4 TSI?
Since the GLI on US spec markets is sold as TSI over here....

I ordered all the parts for this today from the dealer. Everything should be in on Monday. Should have installed by next weekend. Will give update after that.

Can you post some part numbers? It seems as though the ones in the AWE guide have been superseded to something newer.

Right, but they are usually no longer made as there has been a design revision. You can still find the old part at various sites, but the new part is the one currently being manufactured.

When you buy the ESP button from ecs tuning does it come with the harness? or is that what everyone is getting from the dealer?

I'm starting down the road of communicating directly with VW Canada this week about my desire to have them foot the bill to add a button to my car.
Why? Damn thing nearly killed me. In deep snow at intersection when truck started sliding towards me I BARELY got out of the way in time. Damn thing was groaning and moaning at me and I couldnt get it going!
If I had been able to turn off the T control I could have dug the wheels down to ashphalt and got going.
Effectively this should be a recall action. Won't cost them more than 200 bucks a car IMO.

yea it was pretty dumb of them to not put this in the cars. either way vw would probably get **** about it cuz if they put it in then ppl woulda been like hey we didnt kno we turned the traction off blahblah blah then sued them cuz when u turn it off it comes on to the screen for a second them disappears and u dont kno if it is on or off

Installed. Works perfect. My buddy who is an Audi/VW tech installed it today. He used the list of VW parts from the AWE DIY. He stated that one of the wires/harness that goes to the ABS controller was missing from the parts list. He was able to get one for me and finish the job. I'll get more details tomorrow from him as a follow-up.

there are a number of vehicles that don't come with the option of dissabling traction control so i doubt they will do anything about it.
