Asusc, thanks I'm a bit skittish but after seeing your detailed trim removal post I'm super anxious to see your write up on this.

i attempted this today on my Jetta SE. first off the AWE write up is missing a lot of details. the OE repair wire that they say to install in the harness for the ABS controller in way too small. this must be the part that Flyin18T was referring too that was missing. I believe the wire they recommend is used to assemble the switch plug. i ordered it by part number and it comes with two yellow wires with connectors at each end. if you cut them in half you should have enough to build the switch plug. the guide just says insert a bunch of different colored wire which is pretty vague because you cant just shove a wire in there it needs the connector on it. Any way... i tried using a power probe to inject power at the location that AWE suggests to see if that would turn off the system before going through the hassle of actually running all the wires and i was unable to do it. obviously it wont say it in the MFD because the SE's dont have one but i was hoping to make the TC light in the dash come on at least. even though i couldnt make it work tonight im still going to try to wire everything up once i find out the missing part number. I work at the dealer so it shoudnt be too hard but if anyone happens to know it you could save me some time.

Have you figured out what part number switch connector we will need to go with this?

the part number from AWEs guide should work but i can check mine tomorrow and let you know for sure. I also believe i found the part number for the OE repair wire to go into the ABS module. Its 000-979-038EA. my parts guy is telling me this is the correct one but when i get it either tomorrow or friday ill be able to say for 100% or not. i also ordered a roll of factory cloth tape that all the wires come wrapped in to make it look as stock as possible. any one who is interested the part number for the tape is 000-979-950. I ran the wire from the inside of the car to the engine compartment this evening which i believe is the hardest part so as soon as i get the new repair wire i can finish. i had to run the wire a totally different way on my SE because the grommet in the guide is so far under the cowl on my car i could barely even see it after i removed the engine cover let alone reach it. if im able to get the switch to work ill post a detailed guide on how i did it because its quite different than the GLI.

Thanks Fendermender, looking forward to the guide.

Also, I know a few have posted about doing this in the TDI. Can anyone atleast post a list of exactly what parts are needed to order. (ECS switch, AWE kit & and extra wire???)

      Thanks.

SUCCESS!! It works on the SE's. without the mfd it doesnt give you any idication that its off inside the car but i tried spinning the tires over with it on and it chirped once the light in the dash started flashing and it killed the power, then i hit the button and tried again and it spun like crazy. I took a ton of pictures and ill try to post them up soon and do a write-up when i get more time but here is one for now.

Can you use vagcom and change a coding setting so the light flashes on the cluster?

The shape of the ESP button is for the left side though. That is what the concern is. Have to mod the button shape I think
