Here's to another year where Queen James doesn't get his ring.

nope, just like thanksgiving.. everyone around eating and watching the games... i'm good with it.

its almost the complete opposite for me. its the only time of the year that everyone (even the ladies!) sits and watches the laker game together.....although sometimes thats not really a good thing as thats when i get to hear a lot of annoying/nonsensical comments from the casual "fans"

It's probably just because I'm up here in Seattle, and most of my family refuses to watch the NBA these days. I'm sure if we watch any TV it will be The Packers/Bears game.

In other news: Sources say the Orlando Magic are no longer listening to trade offers for Dwight Howard.

Howard Schultz... founder and CEO of Starbucks owned The Sonics. When the city/state wouldn't give him millions upon millions for a new arena, he threw a tantrum and sold the team to Clay Bennett, a guy that was only looking for a team he could move to OKC.
Then once he realized that the entire city was ready to hang him, he filed a frivolous lawsuit against Clay Bennett trying to say moving the team out of Seattle was against the terms of sale, and that he never wanted to Sonics to leave.
After that, we all got to sit and watch David Stern and Clay Bennett pal around for a couple months, and pretend that they were trying to keep the team here. Then they broke the lease on Key Arena and high tailed it to OKC.
If you got the time... watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9Dp20ydm1E

Official...CP3 to the Clips.
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/s...ris-paul-tradeThe Clippers, sources said, will send guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul.

Edit-I think so. NBA was just trying to get more.
LAC got to keep Bledsoe. The NBA...er, I mean, the Hornets kept trying to get him in the deal.
LAC also got back two future 2nd Rd picks from NOH.
I think the Clippers did pretty good. You gotta give a little to get a little, and what did they really give? Kaman is expiring, and they have Jordon anyway. Aminu...meh. Eric Gordon's the biggest piece coming from LAC, and I'd do that for CP3. And the Minny pick will probably be high, but it's an unknown commodity. LAC has enough youth. CP3 gives them the kind of personality on the floor that can whip teammates into shape.

@alanhahn What Stern/NBA did was set a standard in trading a superstar: Demand more, don't let him dictate, don't wait until last minute

Gimme a break.
Am I the only person who thinks Odom, Scola, K-Mart, and Dragic was a better deal for the Hornets?
Kaman is gone after this season, Gordon is a restricted free agent after this season, Aminu isn't a game changing player, and the draft pick is a dice roll. I just don't see how Gordon, and a dice roll are superior to the Laker trade.

I think that NOH would have been a better team instantly with the LAL trade but Stern wanted to set them up for the "future" (whatever that means). The only sure thing from the LAC trade is Gordon. Even if the Minnesota pick ends up being a top 5 pick, that pick is not guaranteed to pan out.

I agree. I threw that Alan Hahn tweet out there because it was an interesting take on it.
But SOAR's right, the Laker trade was much, much better for NOH if you look at it in terms of "basketball reasons."
The Clipper deal gives NOH a clean slate for new ownership to work with, which is Stern's state purpose.

How does Chauncey Billups fit in with the Clippers now? And what was the point of getting him if they thought they had any chance at landing Chris Paul?
