Thread: Official 2011-2012 NBA Thread

Celtics' second-string stinks. Rondo was still doing his thing. But the other four clowns, off of the bench, were doing nothing.

Except Brandon Bass, of course. Dude is making Orlando look like **** for trading him away for Big Baby.

That trade was done at Dwight's behest. No joke.

The Clippers v. Warriors game was pretty good.

So, if they listen to Dwight's ideas like that more often, Dwight will stay?
I knew Bass was gonna blow up as soon as I heard about that trade.

Poor Orlando. I never really believed it to be such an undesirable city for stars.

    Pretty much.

I think Orlando is like a teaser. It's like Diet Los Angeles. Close but not the real thing.

im glad Shumpert's knee injury isnt any more serious. like Big M said, it looked a lot worse.
hopefully Toney can shore up his D or else the Knicks are gonna get killed by PG's all season.

I still hate the Maloofs, but go Kings! We'll see how they do on a back-to-back tonight. Hopefully that's something their youthfulness can edge opponents with this season.

Great to see that his game during the preseason and scrimmage wasn't just a one time thing.

great job by Doc Rivers switching to a zone D in the 3rd quarter of that game. otherwise Miami would've kept steamrolling the Celtics. that first half by them was ridiculous. shot almost 70%.

I don't know why I thought a basketball game was 60 minutes. Momentary lapse of judgement or something; which is funny because just tonight I made a comment to the girlfriend that quarters in the NBA are 12 minutes.

Easily the best game of the young season so far.

Lakers are 2-2 with Andrew Bynum coming off his suspension. They easily could have been 3-1 or even 4-0 but I'll take the .500 start.

I was watching the Lakers v. Kings game the other night and they said that the Lakers were the 5th oldest team in the NBA, which did not surprise me, and that the oldest team in the NBA is the Atlanta Hawks. I did NOT see that one coming.

So, uh, why does Dwight want to join the Nets?

I could see the Lakers or Bulls, but the Nets? I know DWill is good and they'll be in NYC, but damn.

I'm right there with you. Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I'm surprised NJ has been this bad in their first few games.

I could see him not wanting to join the Lakers because he doesn't want to follow in Shaq's footsteps.

Toss up. Theoretically LA is the better choice to win a 'ship now, but the "bright lights of New York City" might be more appealing. One thing is for sure, Brooklyn still needs to do ALOT in the surrounding area to make it appealing to future players. As it is, it still does not feel like a desirable place to be though that might be simply due to the Barclay's construction.

It might do great things for NY basketball, but I am not sure what it would do for the league (Dwight coming to NY/Brooklyn). Jay- Z or not, the Nets will end up playing second fiddle to the Knicks, much like the Mets do to the Yankees. We'll see how their finances go after season one in Brooklyn.

Lou, you're nuts. Yes, the Barclays Center is in Brooklyn and it's not as desirable as MSG, which is downtown. But only 5 miles separate the two. It's not like Dwight is going to buy a condo on Atlantic Ave. He'll be living downtown somewhere and enjoying NYC the same way everyone on the Knicks' roster does. Brooklyn isn't another world.

The Kings are such a joke, I still can't believe they beat the Lakers earlier this week.

Portland is really surprising me so far.

I think it will be OKC for 2012 champs

Too bad since having him along with Tyreke Evans can be the start of a very good thing.

Where would he go anyways? Dallas? Houston wanted Pau so maybe there?
