This event is a "Grand Opening" for the VW show season.

When?
This event will be held on
Saturday, April 7th 2012 at Sherwood Island State Park from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM


How much?
$5 per person entrance fee


Where?
Directions, courtesy of Google Maps
It is extremely easy to get to the park:
1. Get to I-95
2. Get off exit 18
3. If Northbound take a right, if Southbound take a left
4. Drive straight, but stop before you hit the ocean


Guidelines
This is a laid back show, but there are a few simple rules to ensure we can keep this show going:

• No alcohol is allowed at the park. Sorry!
• No hooning
• Obey posted speed limit. There's a lot of kids/dogs/geese/animals/DEP officers patrolling/etc.

We all know what not to do...

Changelog
12-14-11: Copied DoD4 information, will update with up to date information over the next few days.
01-06-12: Purchased Insurance.
01-22-12: Sent Insurance Certificate and License Application to the DEP. Awaiting approval from DEP, then we can pay the License fee and be 100% confirmed for the show.
02-09-12 License is basically approved, a few minor back end changes (invisible to the end user), awaiting arrival of the physical license via mail.
04-03-12 License has been executed; awards have been ordered and should be ready today; porta-potty's have been ordered, paid for and we're just awaiting delivery (Friday); Signs have been made and shipped, just awaiting arrival

Fixing my sunroof tomorrow then hopefully bringing it to a friends shop to get the body work done then trying to figure out a place that does good resprays because my friends shop doesnt have a paint booth

Going to be presenting another one of our "Best VR" awards as well, if you'd like to add it and us to the list. However, the trophy/plaque might be a bit more ambitious this year

Last year along with presenting our own "Best VR" award, we were given the honors of choosing "Best Corrado" "Best Audi" Best MK4" and "Best MK2" and we had a blast doing it!

Made some updates to the OP and the changelog post. Added a club, a cruise and almost added a vendor (awaiting confirmation that they are coming).

Added some guidelines so people know what the park rules are.

We're about 90% done with confirming location; once the DEP approves the application and the license fee is paid, we'll be 100% confirmed.
