I actually may be able to make this one. I will start blocking out some time from work. Thanks, Andrew, et al. for putting this together.

Though the upcoming GoRf is not a Wookie mobile, will the early adopters be invited, too?

And if there is a p.:RRRRocession or pa.:RRRRade from the Northeast that runs through Virginia on the way to the Dragon, I am up for joining in.

Edit: saw the post over on the GoRf board. I am glad everyone is invited. Should be a great time with Dragon runs and interesting photo ops. I may have to put on the roof rack to keep up with the Joneses/PSUs/Betas.

More editing: Hey, Marcel, Darryl and HPA, or Jeff/UM; can you guys come on down for some ECU/DSG mobile tuning this year?

I know in years past C2 has been a sponsor and therefore other tuners showing up and setting up a booth / advertising they're flashing was frowned upon ...

If you can find my car, you'll likely find me and I'll have a flashtop or two with me.:thumbup:

My wife & I are in with RumbleBunny #3783 for it's 4th trip in 3 years.......

Excuses and work are easy to blame, but don't!

This is the best group/event ever and I have been doing car stuff for 50 years....

Be there, I cannot tell you how important this is for happiness for you & your caR.

I went last year on crutches after knee surgery, on Easter weekend; so no excuses other than Mooney's is acceptable......

Just show up with some extra gas money, and a hookah for PSU
:D

TeamZleep, I can give you some pointers based on my experience for whatever that might be worth, if anything.....

I run 39 psi all around on my OEM suspension with Nitto 555's and found it to be the best overall setting for me.
I use S - w/o paddles, as I keep both hands on the wheel and find the DSG is inately accurate in it's choices & timing after a run or 2 to reset it.....
I tried the M mode 1st trip and the paddle thing, S is superior to both for me....

I am and have been for 45 years, a left foot braker, (back to my racing days), it gives quicker reaction time, allows you to move the chassis around some and gives your left foot something way better to do than pushing a clutch.... takes 2-3 weeks of practice initially if I remember and I do it in every vehicle all the time.
You probably don't want to learn this at the Dragon though....

Last year, I slid out to the yellow line in the switchbacks a fw times, but NEVER crossed it.
I was following Steve (doedrums - "I'm not going to run hard" and had an M3 up my ass for a while).

The audible alert will be with me this year, (wife) and I won't have crutches flying around in the cabin, so I will be going easier and photo friendly for the better 1/2.

For the GSXR 750 guy, I did the Dragon in 2003-2006 on my GSXR-1000, Ti Force Header, BMC filter PS race tires and mild ECU tweak, no fun at all - under power it would slide out and wheelie simultaneously in tight turns, it did 100 mph in 1st, so gears weren't ideal, 2nd & 3rd mostly at mid revs was the way to go. My son's 750 was better but you must stay no farther out than the middle of your lane, due to dumasses who cross the lines regularly, a blow to the helmet would be fatal....23 years of bikes up there, I'm done with bikes now due to physical damages and old age....
I can't believe I didn't just buy an AWD car years ago and enjoy the A/C and music before!

So I am the most vehement about staying in your own lane of this crowd due to quite a few near-misses in my younger foolish days.

abe - is that hookah, or hooker????
I enjoy the camaraderie as much as the driving, oh and the eating and coffee part too!!!!

Solid, Solid advice! I'm back on the OEM suspension, and was in the air between Star Specs, 555's, or RS3's. I'm still not sure which to run... I'm doing three different autox clubs up here this year.. It'll be a busy one!

Sport mode seems to do what you were going to do right as you thought it. I LOVE it. I also love learning the balance of the car compared to my 2.5.... It's a world of a difference. I'm not much of a left foot braker, but I was experimenting with it on the Rabbit... Although with the Rabbit when you went to do it, it would cut the accelerator pedal on you :(. Are the R's not like that?? I haven't bothered with it because I figured it was like the Rabbit.

And I'll be there.

TeamZleep, look for us we'll be in the BLUE R32 with Florida tags......

I don't brake while on the gas except at launch - very rarely, so I've only noticed the accelerator cut thing in D if you don't release the brake quick enough from a stop......

I also almost always turn off the TC during my local driving, however - NOT on the Dragon, ESC also seems calibrated well from factory.

mfbmike: you & your wife can hangout with us, you guys will have fun I promise!!!!
Bring Alex!

I'm in. No sense in missing this.

As far as SoWo the month after, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Going to ask Drew (skither) if he wants to come along as well. His R is pretty well modified and if I know him well, I'd say he'd be down as well.
