oh i wont have the 996, i can just find one that we can use as a bench mark...996, chipped is a wicked fun ride! ever since i rode in a chippped/exhuast 996(twin turbo), that has been my benchmark/goal to make my R drive/feel that fast/smooth! hence why i want to do the setup on my R that i have told you about!

Gotcha, yeah I really can't wait to see that set up done. It's going to be nasty! I'm trying to keep him in the shop but now I think it's just stressing him out hardcore.

so my k04 is pretty much in. just got to torque all the lines, install my new exhaust, figure out how to run my intake, and get my ecu back.... this little project is taking a lot longer than i thought...

I'm going to call about our ecus on monday. My head studs just got here today so thats going to be the last thing i'm waiting on too.

So...blown head gasket it is. Now i just have to find an .:R32 in the next few weeks and tear my motor apart! All done by SoWo!

it's not DUN but it needs a rebuild. i found most of my oil i'm missing. the intake system has way more in it than usual. so...i'm thinking of tearing it apart today and ordering parts tomorrow after i see the damage

jus go ahead and throw ya a nice metal head spacer in there.

I haven't found a head spacer so it's getting 9.5:1 pistons and ie rods

u postively sure its the gasket? id do a compression test first, i had the same issue with the wifes gti and it was the piston rings were fried....... do some reasearch cause i know for sure the bpy engines were built with two flaws
1) bad rings and incorrectly installed
2) when cylinder walls were made they were outta spec

id hate to see you do all that work and wind up tearin it down again

yes but if the cylinder walls are outta spec he might have to take it to a machine shop to have it rectified or he will still have the problem
