compared to other shows, like H2oI the theft is only a fraction. i think last year it was just petty stuff like valve stem caps, center caps, etc but as Chris said, we think even a little bit is too much. so far no ones wheels have been stolen and no ones car has been s**t on (like other shows) and we hope to keep it that way, haha!

I went last year for the first time and had a great time, although I wasn't able to drive my Mk1 (wasn't running ) and instead had to ride with a friend who didn't want to stay overnight, so I was only there for Saturday afternoon.

From what we were told from Authorities the wheels were recovered and it was an insurance scam to start with. Don't know. Don't care. They were recovered.

Well, the important thing here is that if we're reaching back almost three years to figure out what may or may not have happened to a pair of wheels that wound up right back where they started (with their rightful owner) SOWO is a pretty safe event. That's all that matters!

I have more trust parking my car anywhere in Helen surrounded by VAG owners than ANY night parked downtown or at the mall... With added security and VAG owners looking out for other VAG owners theft shouldnt be an issue.. If it is, Sleep in your car or buy a Panther.

With any show that draws a large crowd there is always the chance that someone could steal. Just remember it is people within our own community that are doing it. That is why the SOWO Staff has stepped their game up to help prevent theft. We all work too hard for what we have to have it taken from us. You won't find this type of security at ANY OTHER SHOW!

From the beginning we wanted SOWO to offer a unique experience for the VAG community. We started with FREE admission and T-shirts/giftbags and thousands of dollars in giveaways. Now we are implementing large scale security measures to minimize theft and damage.

On Friday night, you will have the opportunity to park at the show site which is gated and will be locked down after everyone has turned in and will be lit by 8-10 generator light arrays from dusk till dawn. We will have security guards overnight and no one will be allowed in until 6:00am Saturday.

As you know, any large scale event has the potential for theft. Every attempt is being made to provide you with a more secure place for your car. However, we still need you to look out for yourself and each other. If you have something on your car that can be easily removed by an opportunistic ****bag, it can be easily removed by you. Most incidents at VAG events involve wheels and wheel accessories. If you opt not to park in the secure area, do what you should do anyway....wheel locks, put valuable stems/centercaps inside the car.

We strongly encourage you to go ahead and register and park Friday night, so Saturday morning all you have to do is walk in and wipe down your car. A shuttle will be available to take you to and from your hotel Friday night and Saturday morning.
