THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT

    NEW THREAD HERE:
    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...nturbo-GTI-337

This is a 2002 VW GTI 337 Edition. Only 1500 of these limited edition cars were built for the United States. Unique characteristics that separate this car from the normal are its votex body kit (front lip, side skirts and rear valance) recaro bucket seats with red stitching, 6spd transmission, brushed aluminum interior trim pieces, 18”x7.5” BBS RC wheels, as well as no sunroof and grey headliner. This car was made as an anniversary edition of the 20th year the GTI had been on sale in Europe and so was the precursor for the later 20th anniv [U.S.] edition many people mistake a 337 for.

Car currently has 144k on it and I have all the receipts for parts and services since I have owned the car. Clean title, never been in an accident, smogged and ready to go. This car has proven to be a very reliable throughout my ownership and very fun to drive. Major parts replaced within the last year are stg 2 southbend clutch, frankenturbo F4T turbo kit, timing belt/ waterpump and just purchased brand new tires less than 2 months ago. Oil always changed on time and I am very big on preventative maintenance, I have taken extremely good care of this car and have made sure that everything works and has been done correctly. I have receipts for over 9k worth of work done to the car, and that doesn't include purchase price of the car. I know I am taking a loss, but buying/modding these cars will never make you money and I'm looking to get into a 944 now.

    Powertrain
    Unitronics Frankenturbo 440cc file (250whp, 300tq)
Frankenturbo f4 turbo kit (turbo, ceramic coated tubular exhaust manifold, 3” MAF)
Southbend Stg 2 Clutch w/ 20lb single mass light weight flywheel (rear main seal replaced at the same time as clutch job)
    Upgraded metal DV
    FMIC
Turbo-Back Exhaust w/ high flow cat
    Magnaflow muffler
    Spectre 3” Short Ram Intake
    HPA Short Shifter

    Suspension
    H&R Lowering Springs
    Bilstein Shocks
    R32 HD LCA Bushings
Front sway bar end links replaced as well as both left and right tie rod ends 2 months ago
Rebuilt stock axles (will also come with 3 boot repair kits I have laying around)

    Misc
    312mm Drilled/Slotted front rotors w/ ceramic pads
    256mm Drilled/Slotted rear rotors w/ ceramic pads
    Stock Red painted brake calipers
    Wheel Spacers- 10mm front/ 25mm rear
Center mounted NewSouth color match boost gauge on steering column
    Joey mod headlights
    Badgeless Grill
    Stock 18x7.5” BBS RC wheel
    shaved hood, bumper and rubstrip

    The Bad
-The glovebox door is not on the car, it was broken when I bought the car and I use it as a shelf instead of buying a new glovebox or finding one in a junkyard. (shown in picture)
-drivers side door card is beginning to sag (place where you rest your elbow)

    Asking price is $9000 OBO

UPDATE: Brand new tires and alignment

EDIT: If pics below are not working, bec photobucket is dumb, here is the link to a flickr account i just made with all of the same photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/74096309@N05/

Here are a few pics of my car, more can be seen at the link above

If you want anymore pictures or clarification on anything, feel free to reach through my email (btollgaard@gmail.com) or pm me on here. thanks for looking.

Hey bro the car looks great. Maybe I missed it somewhere but I'm wondering what you are asking for the car.

Here's a shot of the engine bay. Manual boost controller is what's attached to the firewall in the back with the vac lines going from it to the solenoid that allows for a high boost and stock boost switch i've mounted in the car in the dummie spot next to the traction control (you can see the switch in the interior photos).

Regarding smog. It passed when i bought the car. Only big things i've changed since I bought it that would impact smog is APR stg 2 tune, then the turbo failed and I went with the Frankenturbo turbo package, which included the 3" TIP and MAF housing. It has a race cat in it which was on the car when i bought it, and it passed the sniffer. I won't sell the car if it won't pass smog, that's not right, unless the buyer really insists. But a lot of places around here don't care too much about an intake, so other than that it should pass any other visual and the sniffer, so I don't see a problem with it passing.

why do most ppl who put their almost 10 year old car with almost 10 year old aftermarket parts think the car and its parts have only depreciated 10%? Ive seen most VW owners in the last 5 years fail at trying to sell their cars and instead keep them for obvious reasons..the price is too damn high. At the prices these outdated MK4s are selling for it is wiser to invest in a newer automobile. Anywho, Good luck with your sale.

ummm thanks for the input, but hardly anything of what you just said is true. sure you might be generalizing the vw community as a whole, but calling my aftermarket mods 10yrs old is completely false. i'm not making any money off this car as i've invested thousands more than i'd ever be able to sell it for.

still, this is a for sale ad in a vw based community which you clearly have no interest in purchasing. your opinion i'm sure is felt by more than just you, but it's not needed or wanted in my ad and i would appreciate this not escalating into anything more than what it already is. too many threads get closed or clouded because people come in voicing their opinions about things they have no concern about. if this is an issue to you, please take in into the mk4 forums to discuss prices and not my f/s ad.

    thank you
