Deal didn't work out. Had the title notarized, prosepctive buyer showed up with trade that was junk. So now I need to pay to get a new title if anyone winds up wanting the body, but its available again. So not only am I out the money for the title, but I could have sold 400 worth of parts last week. Since I turned that down for this deal, the guy bought them somewhere else.

This is so tempting.....
re. title, if notarized with your name & address ONLY, it can be sold to anyone![]()
#43
What can I do to further tempt you lol.
As far as the title, to help the guy out I had already put his widest name on it. So I need to tear it up, then go to the dmv and get another one. Not a major process, but a wasted 30 bucks plus the drive that could have been avoided

This car is def worth the effort. Probably has rust inside the gas tank. also Check the straw hose for the in tank fuel pump. Bump from a scirocco owner whos been there before and pulled his hair out
#49
Thank you, I appreciate the bump and the encouragement. If I could work on it, I could probably get it going right and get a LOT more money out of it, but my back is shot, and I can barely get in and out of the scirocco any more, let alone work on it and under it.
I've got someone coming to look at it tomorrow for 500, and I've got someone else waiting to hear whether it sells tomorrow and wants it if it doesn't.
Thanks everyone

The car is now in the Chicago burbs and Eric just called to say he already got it running...
Nice to meet you, Matt.

#53
sold to echassin - check out the build thread - use the search option. This car was a PILE. Poor Eric.
#54
Ok look, mim looking for a first car. So I'm really tight with money, could you come down any lower. If you could I would travel to Ohio to get it. I live in Tennessee. Thanks.
#55
But you sold it. Oh well if anyone sees a scirocco for 500 or less contact me
#57
As has been mentionned, and as you appear to have acknowledged, I bought the car. Ergo, it's not for sale anymore. It has undergone a rotissery restoration, i.e.: the only thing you could get for $350 at this juncture are three of its tires
Good luck on your quest, though![]()
