Got some ziza city lights for my GF's Jetta S - Fits all Jetta models/Not GLI

Here are a few easy steps - 30mins tops if that (took me longer with the pics)

    Thread:
    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...Now-Available-!!!

    Link:

    Tools:

    Light

    Needle nose pliers

For the air box - Allen keys/channel lock pliers

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    Packing -

    Stock -

I removed the air box to make more room -

Use channel locks on the intake clamp, pull tube out. Let the clamp back down on the air box. Then pull up on the box to remove.

Pull the end caps off. -

Twist the FTP/High beams (Flash To Pass) bulbs down, pull out and let them hang out of the way (do not touch the bulb itself). -

To the side of the FTP bulbs you will see the city lights. Pull on the connector and they will come out. I used needle nose pliers on them but was very careful. Never pull on just the wires. -

Pull out the stock wedge bulbs. Yes the new city lights will only go in one way - reverse if needed. Check and turn on lights before installing into the headlight housing. -

Push back in, then tuck the wires out of the way. Put the FTP bulbs back in, end covers back on, and if you took the air box off too then put that back in also. -

    After -

    Enjoy!

    Thanks for the write up.

What are you using for the low beam? Would like to see the LED city lights with the low beam turned on.

I've got some Philips Crystal Vision 4300k in my low beams now and was wondering how this LED would look with them.

Are they significantly brighter than the stocked halogen?

Hey I had a question about actually removing the 194 city lights. I've tried wiggling them out before with no such luck. Is there like a retaining clip or something for it, or do they litterly just pull right out with a little pressure? I didn't want to break them off in there so I stopped before applying a decent amount of pressure. Thanks again in advance, great write-up with the pictures and everything

Thanks man, yes they will take some force to get out. (and to push in for that matter)

The best tool for the job I found out was needle nose smaller vice grips. (remember to not over clamp it as it's plastic)

So i'm confused...on the original post, it states "Fits all Jetta models/Not GLI," but then on another post "Made for all Jetta/GLI models!"

    Which one is true?

No worries man! Thanks for clarifying. I only paid attention to your first post before when it said that it wasn't for GLIs, so I didn't bother to consider this. Now i'm looking forward to adding this on my mods to-do list.

Anyway, so do I need the euro switch to pull this off?

Hey thanks again, I ventured out and took them out with needle nose pliers like you suggested, just took some awkward hand movements and some persuasion They look good. i'll have some pics soon since they're not the Ziza brand and don't seem to be throwing off any codes

Just wanted to put up a good word for ECStuning.

Ordered these over a week ago and received them last week and installed them last weekend. One of the bulbs/harness was faulty and kept giving me an error light. So I called ECStuning first thing today and they gave great understanding Customer Support and shipped out a lightbulb/harness to me today.

    GLI update!

After testing this week we found that the can-bus in the GLI will make these throw a code, we will have a GLI only set out here soon!

    Thanks Andy

I tried the Philips T10 LEDs on for the City lights but one of them kept flickering and kept throwing a code on my 2012 Jetta so I returned them.

Any other recommendations for a replacement for these?

Philips will not work and throw a code because they do not have the resistor/harness as seen from the kit I used.

Powerbulbs set will to big to fit into that small housing
