Shameless starts back up on Sun, Jan 8, 9 PM ET. Who else is excited? The perfect amount of booze, boobs, humor, and drama. Can't wait!

    can't wait! Emmy Rossum.

should be a great season - gallaghers are home for summer break. might need to go back and watch all of season one.

I am still trying to figure out if I like this show. I watched the whole first season out of morbid curiosity to see what was going to get messed up. It's a pretty dismal show.

    I liked the first episode

Glad to see Amy Smart back in the mix. I'm also interested to see if the Frank/Liam thing plays out more than just this one episode, in regards to the family vs Frank.

It's awesome when talented writers are given carte blanche Showtime and HBO really do make the best shows. Showtime prefers to be the "out there" of the two.

Technically 'Channel 4' in this case. I didn't find out until after watching the whole first US season either, don't worry.

Obviously not everything's identical, and I think the US version does a great job in its own right. I just thought I would throw that out there

I knew it was based on a british show of the same name, but despite that, Showtime and HBO constantly crank out some great shows since they don't have the same FCC constraints network TV has to deal with. The only pay-cable show I never got into - because I came in too late - was the Sopranos, and we all know the popularity that show has/had. Other than that, of the ones I have watched, I have never been disappointed.

It's a great show and I've tried to watch the UK version but can't get into. Partially due to the Manchester accents - and 70% of what I've been watching lately are UK shows. I noticed that the UK Frank Gallagher is in Hot Fuzz as the theater/drama guy.

Anyhow, the U.S. version is great and I think Emmy Rossum is not only hot, but a pretty decent actress.

It's weird that the UK version decided to use Iggy pop for their frank character.

I will say that for as many times as I watch this show and squirm, the characters are all great. Frank could not be played better by anyone.

I'm watching Fargo right now and I see a bit of Jerry Lundegaard in Frank Gallagher at times.

i honestly don't think there is one character (most recurring characters) that i dislike - all do really well.

I think the one I dislike most is Jasmine (Amy Smart). But then I remember she is hot and gets naked, and all is forgiven.

  26. 02-22-2012 02:14 PM #26
agreed, amy smart is such a stupid whore, but i think it will help build fiona's character and maybe keep her from banging so many random dudes all the time. bad for us who want to see her naked, but it makes more sense for a character.

I had the misfortune to stumble across old hogs or wild hogs or whatever, the other night and realized that Frank will always be in my mind when I see william macy.

You've soiled my mind! I forgot I ever watched Wild Hogd and that WHM was in it until just now. Thanks! Frank's street cred -1.

eh, every time i see Down Periscope i think that when WHM's not on screen, he's in his bunk just swilling on Old Style, doing his drink, puke, sleep routine.

I have really been enjoying this season. I enjoyed Lip and Ian's fight in the last episode:

    1. beat the **** out of each other
    2. get up and say "Want to go have a beer?"

Jasmine's annoying me to, but I'm having faith that they're taking this in a good direction.
