Frank showed up at someone's door (ex-wife Monica?) in tears and told her "Mom died..." before sort of collapsing in tears into her arms.
For all his talk of being free when she dies and the bighe did when Sheila told him, he did tear up then a little too. I don't know it this is truly going to be hard on him or if his emotions will only last as long as they lasted after he helped that woman kill herself (though in a way murdering her)... head to a church to light a candle for her, only to steal the collection box.

Man that was a great episode. This show has really found its way this season and is one of my favorites. The actors are just so perfect at their roles.

at first i thought fiona was confusing downs syndrome and asian since she assumed it was Lip's, but after seeing the previews for the finale, it's definitely an asian downs syndrome baby.
kevins comment was great though: maybe we're looking at it upside down!![]()

maybe it wasn't in the previews?
after each episode, i go on Showtime's website and watch the three clips they have of the next episode. usually one preview, and two actual ~one minute clips from the upcoming show. that's where they alluded to it having downs syndrome, or as they said, being developmentally challenged.

That last episode had me laughing out loud so much. Definitely one of the best single episodes of the show!
"Gross!"
"Vagina" - Carl
"Maybe we're looking at it upside down..."
Frank making off with the drawer of pills after Karen's water broke...
The pool bird shooting...
Carl keeping the gun and tossing the drugs![]()

No comments on that last episode? Finally got to see it and really enjoyed how some things came together and other things were set up for next year's storyline.
Frank breaking Monica out had its moments of hilarity. Carl is really coming out of his shell too and becoming more interesting as a character.
"So she wants to take care of the baby, and you would rather see it adopted by someone else or cared for by the state?
...
You hungry? I'm thinking Thai."

yeah that was a great ending. and frank getting out of the snow pile all confused was awesome.
maybe jimmy/steve's brazilian wife might be sticking around for a while, which would be interesting, and i know i definitely enjoy seeing her.
i'm also glad the cops handled karen and the baby the way they did - she's a raging C**T.
hopefully the wait for season three is a lot shorter than it was between seasons 1 and 2.

I dunno if I'll be sticking around for season three. This show reminds me of how I felt about Weeds and Californication: Awesome and engaging at the beginning, before becoming boring and repetitive.
#54
what makes you guys think that?
i've never seen more than one episode of Weeds and i've never seen Californication, for reference.

This show is great, but so was weeds for the first few. If they can keep season 3 as good as this season, I am there. Oh, who am I kidding, I am going to watch it anyway.![]()

You realize this show is a carbon copy of the UK Shamless that's been running for 9 seasons. It sounds to me like they have at least 7 more seasons of material ready to go.
Just for the record, I enjoyed S1 more than S2, maybe it was that new car smell, but it's still better than 90% of the crap out there now. Of course that's IMO and others may well disagree.

You haven't watched the UK version have you???
S2 of the US version is so far off the reservation from the UK's version it's laughable.
Karen Jackson never got pregnant by Lip, Mandy does though, Steve and Fiona leave the show at the end of S2 never to be seen again, Sheila doesn't hook up with Jody because there is no Jody, Monica isn't a drugged out bipolar nut job that tries to kill herself, There is no Steve/Jimmy it's just Steve and he isn't married to a Brazilian but he does have a daughter.... and that is not where the differences end.
The US version is more dramatic, UK is over the top with more comedy. They both rock though!

I can't imagine the US show without Fiona. It feels like the show needs that anchor of a mostly normal person having to deal with all the crazies around her. I suppose Lip and Ian fit that description too, but there's just something that Fiona brings as a matriarch, with Frank and Monica as her foil, that would leave a gaping hole without her.

So I had heard a bit about this show, but never watched it as I don't have Showtime (HBO guy here). I went out and bought the first 2 seasons about a week ago and watched them in three days. God I love this show. The ****ed up family dynamics are so well done. I'm basically an only child; my brother was quite a bit older and not home much. This show makes me wish I had siblings to get into trouble with.
Now I have to get Showtime.
On another note, I love the differences between Showtime and HBO. Both make great shows, but the little differences, like the way the shows are shot, the approach to comedy etc
Also, I'm looking forward to season 2 of House of Lies. I guess I like Showtime.

I'd bang the heck out of Fiona's little ghetto butt. I love this show.

Glad to see the good reviews of the US version.
I'm into season 4 of the UK version and I really like it, but it's definitley started down a repetitive path. When the core feature of your main characters is that they are non-stop-screw ups you can only take that idea so far before you stop rooting for them.
I look forward to watching the US version if it ever hits Netflix Instant.
