Thread: LEASE takeover (SoCal): 2012 VW CC R-Line, Blk, 9k miles, auto

Hello everyone, I live in San Diego, CA and I am unfortunately in need of selling my CC that I just bought a few months ago. My wife lost her job and I can't afford to pay for it anymore. The vehicle is a beautiful R-Line, Black in color, black interior. It currently has 9,220 HIGHWAY miles. It is on a 4 year lease. I have put 20% tint on it and l.e.d. interior lights (front and rear domes, glove compartment, trunk, and license plate lights).

0 down, takeover lease payment of $578 month.
9220 miles (highway driven mostly, I work 35 miles from home)
there are NO issues with the car whatsoever
option to buyout at end of lease for $14k
the front windshield was replaced once with OEM VW glass due to a large crack from the road

Please let me know if anyone has questions.

I have a question. Why the F*CK is your lease $578 per month!! You got JERKED. I have the exact same car and I am paying $309 per month. I put ZERO down.

Like I posted in another thread...

Transferring a VW lease is not a good idea.
All they do is add that new person to your account.

Even though someone else can make the payments, you never lose responsibility of the vehicle.
So if they don't make the payments, you're liable & they'll come after you still

The liability cannot be transferred over completely

It's explained on VW's credit website (under My Account & FAQ)

Must have rolled in a trade in with negative equity.

Poor guy obviously made a wrong decision. Lets not beat up an already wounded person. Higher payments can be due to many reasons, upside down trade in, bad credit, etc. I hope your wife finds another job soon so you can keep the car and enjoy it. You might also want to add how many payments left and so forth. Like snobrdr said, payments take over isn't a wise idea since it won't be 100% transferred. If the next person doesn't make payments, you're screwed. My advice is just take the car back to the dealer and pay the penalty and return it. This way you're dismissed from ALL responsibility (obviously your credit will be hampered but just don't buy a brand new car for a while).
