Well I picked up my Certified Pre Owned MK6 GTI back in June of this year. 3 weeks of ownership and I got sent to Korea for an extended TDY I missed the car soooo much. Shortly after my return to US soil I attended H20I and saw some pretty sweat Mk5 and Mk6s. I knew once I got back to VA my car wasn't going to stay stock for to long

This however, is a slow build as I'm now working on my bachelors degree and earning my butter bars.

So here is the low down

I didn't want to put that up there because the list is long.
      But the usual:
      • Get low (coilovers)
      • Wheels (picking them up tomorrow 31DEC2011 )
      • R Tails
      • All the little OEM interior goodies the NA models are missing
      • APR Stage 1
      • BSH engine and drivetrain parts
      • And wayyy down the road goal of a Golf R Rear end with custom exhaust

I also really like the little DIY mods that I have found on the forums-I've already done a couple-I'll talk about those on my first update

Haha I know exactly what you mean...me and my buddy (he just bought a CC) are constantly bouncing ideas off one another of what to do/buy next.

I pin my bars on in May.

Later tonight once I've unpacked from my trip to DC for new years I'll post up the pics of the new wheels I acquired.

      *Teaser*

You guys all know what they are

Heres a Pic of one of the 9.5 vette saw blades wheels I picked up this weekend. They are going to need a little work But it will be rewarding to put in the work restoring them during the remainder of the winter and mounting them in the spring.

      Specs are as follows:
      • Front: 8.5x17
      • Rear: 9.5x17

Hopefully going to start working on these on Wednesday.

First plan of action is getting the tires removed from the wheel, pulling off all the wheel weights and giving them a good clean so I can get a clear idea of what I've got to work with.

      • Aircraft stripper
      • Rubber gloves
      • Soft steel wool
      • Paint brush (to apply the aircraft stripper)

I think thats everything. If you guys could suggest anything I might have missed it would be greatly appreciated

Well I spent sometime wrenching on my friends CC today. Lowered the coils-Front 8 threads and-rear perches about 3/8inch from the top. It's starting to Looks pretty good. It's funny how whenever you ask a friend to help work on your car, they always end up doing most of the work.

I ended up: building wooden block step ramps for him so he could fit his jack under the car, installing the new adjustable end links on both sides and spinning up both the front and back coils while he basically watched.

Here is his build thread if you guys are interested http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ng-My-CC-Build

He did however install his euro switch all by himself

Any way here is a little update for my build. Some refinishing/polishing supplies for the blades and also getting the old tires removed for $3 a piece tomorrow

So bags are no longer being planned. My buddy is still going through with it on his CC. But I have decided to go back to my original plan of coils. funds are an issue and if I got bags I wouldnt be able to afford wheels or any other mods for a while.

So with the money I had started to set aside for a bag set-up I went a little crazy purchasing stuff today:
      • Picked up some used FK streetlines (1K miles on them) for cheap

      Also Order:
      • Racing Dash LED license plate light conversion
      • BSH TSI Race Intake
      • BSH Torque Arm Insert

Pic of just how great a condition these "used" coils were in

      Also new key chain

MK6 & CC Getting frame notched

Been pretty productive today besides ordering a new vanity license plate...My buddy (illestCC.10) and I notched the passenger side frames of his CC and my MK6. He is prepping for air. I'm just sick of knocking the passenger side axle against the frame. And If I ever get the funds to get bags I will be ready to go low

I will post some before, during and after pics once my email account starts working again

That final pic wasnt quiet the final product. I ended up going back sanding and painting one more time. Overall, I think it turned out really well. Not absolutely perfect but much better then I had hoped for

Are you gonna get them painted?

I actually have sold them. But at the time I had intended to polish them up

I'm actually kinda bummed that I sold them. I'm thinking about other wheels now. But I'm still keeping my eyes open for another set of blades.
