I have a similar issue, every time I go for high weight singles or doubles my form goes to ****. Been keeping it at 5-8 reps now and a bit lower weight. I think for me its more frustration since I dropped around 50-90lbs on dead/squat due to having to take a break from some injuries and moving jobs in the last 3-4 months. Its frustrating coming back and not being able to continue from where you stopped. So giving myself a bit of a break and just doing the next 2 months with higher reps until I get back to where I was before ...

I don't see why your form would break down more on singles that volume? my first few are good but by the end of 8+ reps I am a bit sloppy.

Thanks! I'm a bit heavier now. About 190. I got my diet to a point right now where I am maintaining this weight, but, still seeing gains weekly. I'm hoping this will result in a really slow bulk, where I will ultimately be shedding fat, while still building mass.
I personally enjoy higher rep deads. My last "work" set of deads was 325 for 5/5/10. I wouldn't say my form goes to **** on the last set, but, it's probably not as great as if I do one single. With that said, I have been doing high rep sets for a while, and I like to think that I've been training for them, so I may have better results than people who are doing them once in a while, and staying in the 3-5 rep range most of the time.

Progress: Officially signed my offer letter and am moving 3,000 miles to San Francisco. Hopefully now that my mind is cleared, and I'm done the majority of my work load for the semester I can focus on my training until nationals (3.5 weeks). Test day today for squat. Going to about 98%

Squatted 7 tonight. Cut it a bit high because my knees were wrapped so tight I shook the whole way down. Shot up fast as hell though.

Is there a reason to do a half squat (approx 45° above horizontal) followed by a calf raise? It seemed like he didn't know what he was doing, but maybe I just don't know?

ok heres the ting take a corner at 35 or 45racing a ***** had a blow out sled into the crub hit 2 fents 2 burshes 4 brick and a trash can but anywho now I have a load cam knock it sounds like but I'm not sure my oil pan may have got pushed back alittle so I dont know if my oil pump got damgaed and itsn't get oil to the top of the cams does anyone have any ideas what else it could be and yea I spanked the little rice hatch back

American records are tested. Anyone putting up out of the ordinary numbers gets tested at the local level.

hit a pr today on bench, did 255x1 then 265x1 felt pretty good too ..will prob try for 275 next week. still weighing in around 180

Just got back from Burlington, VT coaching some people through a powerlifting meet. My lifters went 1 and 2 out of 3. One of my girls also had the biggest opening squat despite being in the lightest weight class. Pretty good weekend overall.

Tried hack squats for the first time tonight; worked up to 225 then 3x5'ed it.
