You cannot turn the parking lights on by themselves without replacing the standard light switch with the European version of the light switch. Search for "Euro switch" to see a couple threads and pictures on replacing the switch ($40-75 online).

How do you activate the parking lights with the blinker/high beam stalk. It has the P<< on it so it must have parking lights. My Range Rover had them and you could turn the left or right parking lights on by turning on the left or right blinker with the car off. Any ideas?

I think you misunderstood me; im not talking about turning on the aux/park lights like on the light switch, im talking about the standing lights if you will. When you turn the signal on and the car is off, either just the right side lights come on, or just the left side lights come on depending on which side you turn the signal stalk when the car is off. Does it require the euro switch for this as well?

I believe he is talking about parking lights for when you park on the road... for example you park in a neighbourhood on the road and lets say the left side of your car is facing the road and the right side is facing the house... you'll turn on the left side "standing lights" so that at night people can see your car when driving past... something like that.. and I've only seen it on European models

My MKV Jetta does this automatically without and VAG tweeks. I would have expected the B7 to do this as well. good to know that it is not standard.
