So finally after looking forever and a day I finally got my mk3...
It has some cosmetic issues but that is nothing b/c the car drives flawlessly...
I'm going to take it to a body shop once I get back...
Cant wait to drive this bad boy in the VA sun and I'ma get some 20th ed. seats...
some starter pics & sorry for the size...
PS I've got a new trunk for $30...

    Looks like a good start.
Don't forget to get caught up on maintenance first especially the timing belt.
I'd suggest holding off on installing that euro gti lip until it warms up, unless it's an actual VW one. The aftermarket lips all get brittle and shatter in cold weather even here in Florida.

So the rust is b/c the car was originally from NY so that checks w/ chart
& once I have some more time I will find a good VR6 lip...
Any good places to get a new top...
I saw ebay but it was like 300 for a vinyl...
I saw the faqs but I didn't get any better prices...
    Thanks guys...

I was only kidding about the whole rust thing, I'm glad you got a good car, just hope it isn't too rusty. If you're looking for a top for a good price try looking in the bargain parts area of www.vwparts.com, they'll run parts for cheap, and the last time I checked they had tops in there for 199.00, but they probably are not the colors you're looking for. I would stay away from vinyl (aftermarket), as it tends to crack (especially if the car is kept outside and subjected to the weather), and then you're right back at square one (needing another top). Just save your money, bite the bullet, and get a cloth one, you can even scour the classifieds and get an entire assembly for (probably) cheaper than you could get an outer liner and installation for. Just my .02. Let me know if you run into anything you need help with, I've had mine for over 10 years and still love it...

If you don't need the factory grille anymore...I could use it on my car.
