the two other boxes arrived today as I was swapping my wheels. not sure about the install as well. if you do decide to DIY, consider posting your experience.

curious to hear the TBE for real. the vids sounded good and it looks well-made. and the spending continues...

How much experience wrenching do you have? On jackstands it can be very frustrating.

Install is super easy with the v band design...just slip into place and tighten the clamp.....We did a full install in the shop on the floor with only hand tools to give a accurate install time to customers and it only took us 1 hr 45 mins from start to finish including removing the old system.

you mean there's not enough space to work using jackstands? don't have my own lift so curious to hear what people have done.

Right, but you guys are pros. When I tried to install my Magnaflow CBE, my issue wasn't with getting the MF on, it was with getting the OEM CBE off. It was cold and maybe the rubber hangers were stiff but there were 2 hangers I could not get dismounted to save my life. Maybe I just have weak girly hands

It can be done with jack stands, but it seems to be a pain. I got a quote from a local VAG tuner shop to install the TBE for $100, well worth the time/frustration/effort for me

installed my cat-back on the floor w/ jack stands, hardest part was cutting the existing dp to make the new exhaust not stick way to far out the back, other wise easy install, just use some wd-40 on the hangers and they will slip on and off

Any custom fabrication(cut dp/other pipes) to make the borla cat back fit? Also will the tips stick out of the back more then stock?

Or does it just bolt right up?

gotcha. I picked mine up on that GB. Great deal and fast delivery. Now just need to decide if I will tackle the install myself. The car is my DD and between work and family, not sure I will take the plunge. Really would like to do it myself as working on it is fun and I want to learn more.

Like you say, $100 is a pretty nice deal. Good luck.

BTW, you work in EMS/ED/pathology/mortician with that name?

That does sound excellent. So 42dd makes catback only? Sorry for the noob question, never heard of this brand, just started part shopping for my next car.

I paid $200 because I lived in an apartment at the time and it rained for a week straight. APR TBE was taking up my living room floor for too long so I broke down and paid to have it done.

Noted early on that a video depicted BB downpipe with Magnaflow exhasut. What, if anything is required to mate the two pipes together.

BB is full 3" IIRC, which would mean that you would need a reducer (and possibly cut the downpipe a little) to make it fit.

    The eurojet sounds very nice!

I'm torn... maybe you guys can help. I am running a UR downpipe (cat + res) and im looking to add a catback.

    Magnaflow vs eurojet.

    Magnaflow - deeper note
    Eurojet - more "European note"

Both seem to be quality peices but there is a $200 - $250 price difference

Will the EJ catback be much quieter with my dp since the resonator is larger than what comes on the EJ downpipe?

    Thanks guys.

Kind of pissed. Got my DP installed today and found out that it doesn't have the metal "things" that fit into the rubber hangers. It appears that this is not a one off error by the manufacturer. I do not like the idea of having the weight of everything in front of the CBE being supported by the turbo and flex pipe. Thoughts?

Not my pic but the red box is around what my DP does not have.

Probably a little quieter. And the EJ isn't terribly loud unless you're on it. Just cruising (especially with the soundaktor delete) its actually pretty quiet.

Thanks for the reply. I like hearing some exhaust when just cruising - i want to know its there, just not obnoxious. I like it to be a very nice European tone rather than drone. I have deleted my "noise pipe".

I know there are plenty of videos and i've listened to ALOT of them, i just dont always trust the mic and speakers are replicating the sounds how they should be.

Another question - how much louder would the EJ be if i had the resonator on my downpipe removed?

    Suggestions / Advice?

    Thanks again.

The resonator on the EJ DP is on the large J pipe, which only is used for a full EJ TBE. If you split it up with any DP/CBE that mates at the regular location, you will not have the resonator on the EJ DP. Regarding Magnaflow CBE vs. EJ CBE, I feel like the EJ CBE would be quieter, since it has a middle resonator in the same place as the Magnaflow, but the EJ also has the suitcase muffler that the Magnaflow lacks.
