Tiguan w/APR 6M, Borla sport muffler.

Tig has a stock dual outlet out of one corner of a smaller suitcase, where the inlet is still centered past the axle.

I wanted to keep it simple, and did. A single oval muffler, installed diagonally, using only one 45' bend.

I could have gotten away w/a $50 Magnaflow off of Amazon, but spent $99 for the Borla...which I won't regret. $80 for install.

I'm sure nobody here will convert to single outlet, but it makes a lot of sense. The y-pipe into two rear mufflers is likely the best set-up going. My system could be a template for a dual system with the Y and 2 mufflers.

Nice shot of low-end "snap". I need a little more time for a sound clip, pics, etc. I'm 100% happy.

Here's my first shot at a sound clip. (yes, it's a manual )

Adds rasp, but it does sound better than stock.

Thanks for the vid. Kinda hard to judge from it but it does sound good. Might just stick with the resonator delete for now...

Is it normal for an AWE TBE to have a slight tractor sound to it? I was under the impression that a TBE with a cat and res wouldn't have that?

I don't really like it. Might put the stock dp back on and just stay stage 1.

do those downpipes have the reducer on them? I have the GHL catback and it doesn't have a reduced portion.

    NEUSPEED Catback:

Do not many people use NEUSPEED exhaust?

Seems like it gives a real nice tone and from some install vids I watched, it installs pretty damn flush.

  23. 08-22-2012 12:06 AM #828
Figured it was time to chime in about my GHL catback. Now some warnings, drone doesn't phase me I use to drive a built TJ on 33 BFG km2's (mud tire) so after going 2 hours plus with a softtop and those your pretty numb to "drone".

First evening, I picked the car up after having Redline Speedworx do the install (great guys very friendly answered all questions and good price). At first I thought meh sounded a bit low, until when you got on it, it picked up in sound but as is any exhaust before break in.

After 1k it finally showed what it sounded like, a nice gurgle when coasting in gear to a stop light and a nice throaty sound when you got on it. Interior noise minimal (remember TJ 33's) also I got it done memorial day weekend my windows havnt been closed when driving all too often. I will report back when the cold weather returns.

After I got a Apr cai the sound changed it now has a throatier sound to it through all gears and RPMs, it isnt overwhelming and can be controlled by the input given by the user, want it quite drive miss daisey style, want to hear it get on it pretty simple. A friend who has owned many performance cars commented when I took him for a ride (his current car is a BMW TT) its loud but in a good way the sound is uniform but not with a ricer feel.

Quality of construction, top notch I was very impressed when I looked over all the parts, you can see time went into the welds and thought process behind this. Packaging wonderful, the shipping company (can't remember) wasn't the most careful so the box had some tears ect however the product comes bubble wrapped to the extreme no damage at all in shipping. All parts accounted for clamps ect.

Butt Dyno nothing I noticed but heres the thing, I didnt expect anything from the get go I got it for the sound and to enjoy ripping through the gears.

Over all thoughts I love it, it was just what I wanted for my GTI and expected from other reviews, I would recommend the product to anyone with a GTI that wants some sound for their car, i will be adding the DP next year I hope.

Out of all of these my favorite still is billy boat dp, to apr catback, the only problem is im scared that the rsc is just going to make it too quiet.. I really dont want to spen lot of money on a quiet exhaust. I really want a deep, loud sounding exhaust, if anyone has any suggestions or tips on this id appreciate it!

I love the bb dp. To the apr cb, my only concern is that the rsc technology is going to just make the exhaust too quiet, does anyone have that set up catless? If so id love to know how loud it actually is!

I can't seem to find a video of a catless BB downpipe with APR RSC cat back. Its the combo I was thinking of running.

I think my BB catless and magnaflow catback is quiet. The camera microphone will pick up and amplify the sound so you cant always take exactly what you hear in the videos. You will get the same tone but its gonna be hard to tell volume from some videos just because different cameras being used.
