I'm going to keep a log of all the solid DIY threads in one post. If you think a particular DIY should be included, post or PM me a link to the thread and I'll add it. I'd like to keep this to posts that are dedicated DIYs, where all of the information needed to complete the mod/DIY is located in the first post.

And here's my post on ECU removal for the GLI. Not sure if it applies to regular Jettas as well.

Someone had referred these interior lights for my 2012 GLI and said that he installed them in his 2012 TDI with no problems and no error codes

    http://www.exledusa.com/index.php?di...oduct_id=29806

Just wondering if anyone has installed them before. If not, im open to suggestions that people have actually installed successfully in a 2012 GLI with no problems or error codes

    I am new here.

    Can I make a suggestion?

can the date be added next to the "how to" item title of when it was added so we have a point of reference when the list was updated for the non-frequent viewer?

I was really interested in this kit but there was no information about this at that time.

I bought it and they were intense! The brightness of this makes my eyes hurt so bad!
The LEDs for the map and dome light are brightness adjustable which is awesome.

Just wondering if you installed them in a 2012 gli? Or just a straight 2012 jetta? From what ive been hearing there slightly different. if so in a gli, Did you have any error codes come up? Blow any fuses? Any installation problems that i should be looking out for. Have you seen or tried any other complete kits like this one before? Lol sorry for all the questions but im just a complete nube when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Kinda wish I had seen this before the Ziza kit from ECS Tuning. I like the front map light setup and the wide bar. I have some very small 6SMLED typ194 bulbs in the front and they are decent at being just dim enough to not find anything in the black interior abyss. They also aren't as bright for license plate bulbs, which was their original purpose, and one of them got fried . My biggest issue is that all of the Ziza lights overheat and will start to dim after being left it for a while. Is this natural?

Sorry for the super late response
I have a 2012 Jetta, not gli. there was NO warning lights or anything. I disconnected the battery just in case so all my fuses were okay.
I've tried just regular LEDs before and it was alright. But I think this custom kit has much better quality and much brighter. but you know, you need to pay bit more however I think this custom kit worth every penny.

I heard that, when the LED gets really hot, it automatically shut down to keep the LEDs are ok. however, this also meas that, if this happens a lot, maybe the LEDs are bad quality ones.

How exactly does one remove these rear head rests? I feel as if I had messed with them any longer they would have been off... but not able to ever go back on again. lol

A lot of people have been asking for more info from this member, but with no response. Shame really, as it looks like a really good project to take on one weekend.
