Yep, this thing is eating up some of my time and will be for a bit it seems. On the up side, I had/have A LOT of goodies left over from my '94 VR swapped Jetta to go onto/into this one. When B got this back from the ex, the DE red stripe seats had been replaced with GL gray "flat a$$" seats and she had used the car to kiss the back of another vehicle. The p/side frame horn was bent, but the frame rail was unscathed. I straightened out frame horn as best as I could, by eye as I don't have access to frame rack. As for his seat dilemma, I kicked him a set of GLX Sport Cloth seats. He did have the opportunity to get a few things done before having to leave it behind. Things done by Buddy:
    - new battery
    - 120A alternator upgrade
    - sound system
    - OEM Cabrio 3.5 door pulls
    - new thermostat
    - new radiator
    - smoked tails
    - Joey modded n/a lights
    - winter camo headliner swap
    - ported & polished t/b
    - Neuspeed P-flow filter & heat shield
    - new open cat back 2.25" to GLX muffler
    - 2 new front tires
    - H&R front springs/new struts
    - fender & hood replacement

Things I've done since it's been left to us:
    - new brake pads all around
    - oil pan gasket
    - upper and lower intake mani gaskets
    - valve cover gasket
    - repair front bumper ("kiss" from B's ex)
    - ghetto textured Fr & Rr bumper
    - euro tub
    - hydraulic hood lifts
    - OEM Cabrio black visors
    - OEM black Passat grab handles
    - OEM black dome light
    - replaced worn headlight switch
    - OEM chrome buttoned e-brake handle
    - BMW E30 basket weaves
    - Hella smoked side markers
    - aluminum door lock pins
    - painted metal lower grill trim (was black)

Still on shelves waiting for install:
    - smoked E-codes
    - new rad support
    - new NGK wires
    - manual stubby mirrors
    - OEM GLX side skirts
    - Rear H&R springs and. New struts
    - MKIV cabin filter
    - new Fr wheel bearings
    - d/side front door wire harness

...And there is more, I just don't feel like typing much more. Over all, its solid. Somewhere along the line the pinch welds got a little banged up behind the front wheels. The pans are solid... honestly. There is a little surface rust on the wheel arch by the rear d/side door but its stop-able. Its a factory non-air bag, non-ABS and as for being an auto... I have to say its not that sluggish. Its no 5-speed, but it does pull strong and even. That being said, I'm gone...

So I'm assuming we're done with the use of words like "sharp objects" while talking to my wife?

To sum up the story on this car and what's going on:

This car belonged to a friend of ours, he bought it for a g/friend. They split, she has minor fender bender and returns the car to our friend; said friend starts to repair the car as he can. He then has an opportunity to move, but was forced to leave this car behind. Bad Bunny VW needed a daily, and this car isn't in terrible shape, so were going to make her a neat little driver. This is my lady's 1st MKIII and 1st thread, so let's keep the flaming/bashing out and the helpful and encouraging posts coming.

No one is hating, the entry to you thread makes no sense. Since your writing is our first impression of you, and you've shown no pics of a nicely done car (yet) we have no choice but to assume your car will come out like ****.... That being said, the car looks pretty good in the newest pics. Wash it and take some clear pictures.

Why not offer some helpful suggestions instead of being harsh and mean? The headliner was obviously re-upholstered (as stated in a previous post) and was swapped in by the previous owner. Everyone has different tastes, and to each their own. Negative comments and posts like some of the one 's in this thread are perfect examples of why more and more people hate the Vortex these days... Go team jack a$$

Didn't your mother ever tell you, if you don't have anything nice to say then shut up. Apparently you all have no manners, and should be ashamed of yourselves. Way to try and deter me from continuing my thread on here.
As for my car, its a f@#king project. Its not finished. It got dumped in our laps. And really that's all explained in the title, and first thread post, including the link to the last owners thread, which has the title I was mocking. Thanks a lot for being real Richard Heads, guys. I appreciate that. Now do us all the favor and get the hell off my thread and stop wasting my time
