Nope, Seven Seas Highway. Due the 16th. Don't know why it had to sit at the port from Dec 6th to Jan 7th but at least its moving now. I bet we'll see less lag time in the US ports for the ships that are coming later, since they've already delivered (to customers) a couple cars and the frequency of ships is slowing down to one every couple weeks, so theres probably less total boat traffic and fewer cars to move now that its the slow season for buying cars.

Considering they can unload the entire boat in less than a day and the drive from RI to NY is like 3 hours, I don't see why I couldn't take delivery of my car by Friday of next week if it gets unloaded Monday of next week. We'll see, though.

Ah ok, I like your optimism. I am taking the other angle - Olympian Highway will be in RI port tomorrow and I am telling myself I will see the car the week of Jan 23rd - and mine only has an hour ride to CT

I sat in an unsold R today in Winston-Salem and the seats were AMAZING. I've sat in Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches... the seats in an R are just as good or better than any of these.

So is the consensus that they're not the same as the leather seats in the GTI? The GM for the dealership I deal with sat in one at one of their conventions, and he said he thought they felt a lot better, but they didn't have a GTI there for comparison.

Can someone who has already taken delivery check the functionality of the ESP system please?

Press once to disable ASR, but ESP remains on?
Press and Hold to fully disable ESP?
Or is ESP not fully defeatable?

I've never sat in a Mk6 GTI so I'm not sure but I can tell you that these impressed me a lot.

Has anyone tried to price out a golf R front bumper conversion now that the car is available in the US?

Seats are different, at least different from my '10 GTI. The are more "cushy"...hold you better in the turns. I do like them better.

Leather. My buddy has a '11 GTI and he commented the seats were different too...actually had the same comment, said they felt cushy.
