In regard to autofi's "e-coat" comment, modern production cars do go through this process. What I can't remember, from my automotive career days, is whether an additonal primer is sprayed before the top coat color? (If a friend of mine that once worked on the paint line can answer I will update.) Maybe the "tan" is the e-coat and the "gray" is the spray primer. There would probably be a few different primer colors based on top coat color.

I don't know what your saying, the color is not off as in a different shade, it is not the same color

Sometimes during rapid assembly, the underpinnings get very little, if any color coat on top of the dark gray primer coat, then they all get a clear top coat.... it's cheap and I wish the practice would end...

Yea, also maybe its just a fluke on some of the first run cars, like a factory f' up

And it will be worth more down the road like a Billy Ripken baseball card(old heads will get what I mean)

Soon enough. The stock suspension rides really nice and it supposedly being winter in New England...
Coming from a mkiv, feels like an Audi. I can't even think of another car I'd rather have. I love the rising blue too, much more exotic than DBP. The adaptive headlights are pretty cool too.

yeah the headlights are awesome. one of my favorite parts of my GTI.

Maybe other cars are but i have yet to see a vw with a completely different color under the hood like the R's do, and I have worked on 100's of mk6's already

Tiguans are like that too...cost saving measure on vw's part

Same here this is sad to see...

I second this. Happy to see them arrive although rather disappointed to see the sub par paint job. Especially on a vehicle catered mostly to enthusiasts who notice details.

I had everything but the rear bags but had these ones on order since they were announced. I don't think there are any rear bombers in the us yet.

I would def get on the r stuff if you are going bagyard. After the wait I had getting my bombers for the mkiv, as soon as I decided I was getting the r I ordered them, that was like April. And even tho I was in no rush to get them I still didn't get them till like August/sept. I hate waiting on that one part that prevents you from starting your project.

I tried the button a couple different ways:

-Press
-Press and Hold
-Double Press
-Press and Hold followed by another press

All resulted in the same confirmation on the MFI...that ASR had been deactivated. There didn't appear to be different levels of deactivation, as the message was always the same.

I dont believe esp can be completely deactivated, couldnt on the mk6 gti either. To go drag racing for example we had to pull one of the abs sensors

I dont know if its true but was told it was federal law now to have some form of stability control on cars producing a certain amount of power or more

I don't have an exact number but there is a thread titled "LED Tail Lights", which has received a lot of input today. I assumed that you had meant to post this in that thread. My bad!

On the OEM ones at least the rear fog is a LED. Maybe these are the same and so you won't have to worry about replacing the light.

So maybe they started painting your car with the wrong color, caught the mistake, and painted over it... is that what you think?.... This is not good... time to request a meeting with the regional VW rep if that's what may have happened...

?? I thought all the GTI and R after 2012 should be able to deactivated ESC. When you press and hold for 2~3 sec. It should first appeal ASR is deactivated then it would appeal ESC is deactivated with "DING" sound.
