Cut that rust out and get some widebody flares.

Great Start. Looks like you found a solid car.

Never mind the naysayers. Maybe it comes from living in the rust belt, but I see the potential.
      May I suggest.... http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...of-Sheet-Metal

It's actually kind of funny what we consider "not that bad" or "able to work with" here when it comes to cars.

Kind of like how we survive year in and year out in the miserable cold.

Oh and just to rip a line from that exact thread:

look past the toll the years (or decades) have taken on the body – as long as the tin worms haven’t eaten any holes through the metal bigger than a football
So I guess that thread doesn't really help the O.P. now does it?

I love 240s and have spent a lot of time working on them. Built a few. I will suggest a sr over an rb any day especially for a budget build. An sr with very low miles could be had for ~1300 bucks with EVERYTHING. Rb parts are very expensive and you can't get by going to your local parts store.

I don't know who said sr's are not reliable but that is so false from my experience. One me and my friend built with a simple 2871r setup makes over 400whp and starts every single dAy no problem. That car gets the balls beaten off of it everyday and it is still stock bottom end.

If I were to build another one I would do a simple t28 setup with powerfc and cams. It's all in the tune

i owned a 1990 s13 coupe SOHC but it had the welded j30 diff along with headers, full pipe, etc and i can say from experience that 240's are great and fun cars but i had to go back to volkswagen

I have the biggest POS S13 silvia you've ever thought of. The car was given to me for free and I am using it for use at the local rally-x.
The previous owners have swapped the Silvia nose for a rusted 240sx front. The broke 80% of the bolts in the process also. They removed the heater core, and most of the dash wiring and window wiring.
Good news there is a beautifully running rb20 under the hood.

Well boys heres the plan for body work:

      1. Patch the holes with sheet metal or buy wide body pannels to weld in.
      2. Paint it olive drab
      3. add a pin up girl
      4. Traffic cone kill count on the side. Some fender flairss will be used.

So long as its water tight and mostly there im kool with it. I found a turbo kit for the KA for 500 bucks sans intercooler and boost controller. I am probably going to do that!

I actualy just bought a s13 coupe 100% stock with 115k a few weeks ago for 600$ Running and rusty so much fun, I put some cheap ebay coilovers, and welded my diff, this car is alot fun/better than my 04 r32 , I plan on selling my R and just keeping the 240 as my daily/fun car.

I've had mine for over 7 years now. I have about $7k into it as well.

Come spring I'll finish her up.
