You could always bring the family and make a vacation out of it.

The WaterWerks crew be leaving at a different time, probably Friday morning around 9am. We'll making a 2 day trip out of it since we will have a 16ft box truck and a fully loaded Eurovan.

We'll be stopping in Weed, CA (where we usually stop) and stay at the Motel 6, have some beer and pizza at the local pizza place and chill. Its a 9 hour drive from Seattle to Weed. We'll probably get to the bay area Saturday, mid afternoon.

There is another VW event on this weekend. A national TDIclub event in Michigan. I have been to the last two in a row.

This one has a sweet venue. Hmmmm.

This one should have a great caravan.
    Hmmmm.

Thank you waterwerks for doing a norcal show it is truly needed!!! Sf is centrally located on the westcoast and worth the trip plus looks like an awesome venue!! I miss the old ND shows hopefully this show can take over as the staple show of norcal and a must go west coast show for years to come. Year before last we all drove up for waterwerks in search of an awesome show that was well put together and organized on the west coast which is exactly what we found! See you sep 2nd!!

I do the drive up to Waterwerks every year. It is not that bad of a drive coming down here. I do it 3 or 4 times a year.
The roads around here are not the best. I5 is mostly good. 505, has a bunch of construction on it, right now, who know what it will be like in September. HWY 80 is also having construction at the moment, it is not that bad. I drive a lowered car from SF to Sacramento every week. I am driving up to Portland this weekend. I'll give a road condition update when I get back on Tuesday.
The road out to the venue has a couple set of RR tracks. It is not that bad. I'm sure that has been taken into consideration.
I will say if anyone plans on staying at the Days Inn in Point Richmond, Take the Freeway to the venue, Cutting Blvd is AWFUL!

    Im in, if....

    1. I am home... Just found out I may be going overseas if someone else does not pass certain criteria.

    2. If the short bus is done... Yes, my yellow short station wagon is called the short bus...

    3. The average temp is not above 90 as I am not running a/c and don't want to sweat in my, suede/leather SRDs for 12 hours doing 90 with all the windows open... It just doesn't cut it...

If you want to go to Alcatraz, Book you tickets NOW. They sell out sometimes months in advance. Since it is a holiday weekend, it might already be sold out.
