all a bummer. a truck like that with the right owner could have been a fun addition to this forum, when you sell it to the new owner later, tell him to come back and we will welcome him with warm open arms.

Wow, that was a lot of editing - up to 9 pages was it?

My wife and daughter loved reading it.

I may not LIKE every style and trend out there, but do have an appreciation for all things automotive and mechanical and realize at any age, I still have more I can learn.

You may know more than those you associate with, but there is still a MUCH bigger world out there.

Nice truck, love the tailgate, love the wheels - you've already heard about the fitment - waiting to see when it is done - just dont get bored of it, and if you do, pass it along to someone who will appreciate it.

As someone mentioned, at least another new member to the MK 1 world.

The thing about the mk1 crowd, is that we are an entirely different culture than that of the newer vw's/rest of the import "scene". We aren't impressed with absurd post counts, neon wheels, loads of stickers/ etc...that the rest of the car world is doing. We are a different breed of creature. A somewhat stubborn and set in our ways group(on occasion) but you treat us with respect and we'll return it ten-fold. We're also full of ball-bashing crazies... So take everything with a grain of salt. Hang in there youngin'. Hang up your attitude at the door and the hospitality can almost be overwhelming.

That said.... I can't believe I called someone "youngin"... I'm still young myself lol

damn josh, this read better than most the cliff notes i read through college....

either way, yes, OP said some pretty ugly stuff, and yes, some of you retaliated adding even more ugly.....

guess what i'm trying to say is two uglies don't make a pretty....

i seriously would love to see what a younger person such as yourself would do in regards to a build (not just slapping wheels on...). i too, like many where once young... and i know i did some really dumb and god aweful stuff back when i was in my teens, so again, seriously would love to see your take on a mk1......

having said that, i do feel you might want to apologize for starting off on the wrong foot (regardless of ET.... ) and if not, do what you need to do.... just don't expect much more than anything you've gotten till this point...

    take care,
    nash

Nope, not found there. If you mean GTI/Jetta GLI, it would cover a little more. Maybe 1/4" or so?

I love that tailgate and I'm gonna take a card out of it for my truck. I'm also glad the OP is in better spirits cause this truck has a lot of potential

Well I know the rear flares on the trucks are slightly different than that of a regular mk1.... I just figured that of all the trucks, the sportruck would be the one with the flares

This thread is indeed entertainment. I have a lot of poke, but who Fukn cares, I need track, I love snowflakes, not a gear offset, and sell need to body stuff.

I have huge tyres, meg, they grip. Function> form.

But, you most definitely need to show some respect, do what you want, but eventually you will have questions. And need answers...burn too many here you'll find a lot of guys here on are in ALL the forums.

I like the truck, its cool. But recognize most of us have owned these longer than you have drawn breath.

Remember when poke was the ****?

Good thought, and makes sense. But they had no exterior differences from the standard truck except for the decal and the front "lip."
Funny thing is there were no performance upgrades either, except the wheels were 13x5.5 instead of 13x5.

I noticed the matching pinstriping in lieu of side moldings. Looks nice. Did you add that or was that already there?

I've seen worse poke on these forums, not that bad looking IMO. I noticed the pic from above the wheel disappeared in the melee. Would like to see more pics in general.

Also, you say you're not done, what are the plans for it?

    They are Ssr mkii's 14x8 Et0

And I bought them from one of my bestfriends, and he's letting me do payments, because right now I'm broke, but once I pay him and save up some money, I plan on building wheels with a way more proper offset.

The funny thing is that if you showed up at say the Jolly Roger GTG at H2O you'd get a second of sh!t for being a doosh, and then it would be something to laugh about....believe it or not you're not the first person to be a total A-hole on here.

Shrug it off, and move forward.

I think just the addition of a nice, shiny set of LX chrome wheel-well moldings would set off the wheels and flow with the pokage.

like the ones on this truck...etc

rain gutter chrome might not hurt either.

Those look pretty sweet, but personally I'm not the biggest fan of anything chrome haha, but my girlfriend is going back to college next week, so as soon as she leaves I'll get to doing some actual work, but right now she's priority so the truck will have to wait another week

honestly if you put ur gf first all the time your truck will never get done. My ex wife did that to me. I ended up being without a vehicle for almost two of the almost three years we were married because I kept putting her first. Granted my gf now likes helping me on my cars but since I got away from my ex wife I have done so much on all of them.

Sorry must hats to see people go through what I did. Gotta balance ur time between ur gf and car.
