Anybody here have the full APR RSC for a 2.0T? It's either that or the 42DD for my next purchase...
I'd really like to hear the difference.

And I shall strike down upon thee with great revs and furious acceleration those who attempt to obstruct or delay my overtaking and you will know my engine is turbocharged when I lay my powerband upon thee.”

I recieved my weekned waitng response from borla hoping to have a little better insight as to a set up in which i would like to go, dual split exhaust, and i was hoping borla would have a good response as to how i could custom one using their exhaust and what muffler is recommended but i got a one line, overheating blah blah buy this one out of the box, that is what i would recommend. I mean i watch velocity channel and there has been so much stuff on borla muffs for shelby and i had on on my old mkiii so i want to go that route but come on. If you dont want to point me in the right direction maybe another company will help. I dont want out of the box. I am modding my bumper to fit a dual and love the borla sound.
Suggestions anyone have a good outcome on a custom exhaust? sorry for the rant.![]()

Hey guys, I was considering upgrading the exhaust on my 2.5L Jetta, but I don't know which one to pick. I want one that is relatively quiet, but has a nice sound for whenever i choose to get up there in the RPMs. Based on what I looked at on forums and youtube, AWE tuning seems to fit the bill. I saw on their youtube videos that they have a Touring as well as Track edition exhaust, but when I go on their website, I can only choose one exhaust.

Awe is generally a good move
Pay now or pay later, either way, you pay.

That sound is perfect for me. I just checked and it seems the Touring vs. Track choice is only available for the MK6. Mine is a 2010 MK5

Has anyone found an exhaust for the Jetta that doesn't rub on the rear axle if you're lowered? I'm underniet my car one every month or so trying to twist and push it around to make it fit and there just doesn't seem to be a solution. I have the 42DD 3" which rattled in the beginning but I heat wrapped it which silenced it for a bit but now we've chewed through the wrap and there really just isn't enough room over that axle for this 3" pipe. Anyone run into this issue with their GLI/Wolfies running 3" pipe

i know what he's talking about and i have the same issue. i called it an axle too because i'm not really sure what it's called, but it's in the rear right in front of the sway bar on the drivers side. in my research i found that the exhaust only runs over it on jettas, on hatches the the pipe is routed underneath.
when i first noticed the issue i asked but no one had any insight and i didnt know enough to root cause the issue. you can see here the offending location and my bootleg fix to stop the rattling sound. i pinched down the sides of the heat shield (?) so it wouldn't move and tied it down with stretch wrap. pretty shxtty looking but it worked.
since then i have removed the stretch wrap used 3m tape to act as a buffer between the two surfaces and it works much better + nothing dangling below the car. i think the right fix is like Kidversion said. If I look at my car from the rear, I can tell that the tips aren't level. I'm guessing you have the same issue, and i believe anyone that doesn't have it up in the correct position will experience the rattling. i also noticed that stuffing the 3m tape in there helped rotate it closer to where it should be. i just have to wait for better weather to get under the car and figure out what to adjust to level it out. it's not so much raising the exhaust straight up, as rotating the rear section. with the way that the pipe is angled it will raise it up off the beam.
I changed my oil with diluted KY Jelly and I really like it. Drove it 3 miles no problem yet. Highly recommend it.

Bringing this back from the dead. Someone asked me for a sound clip of my exhaust, so why let it go to waste?
