As stated above, I am in the market for a clean Mark III Jetta to purchase. It must be rust free, and have been in no accidents. Preferably something which hasn't been modified yet...color doesn't really matter as long as the body is in good shape. Let me know what you have. Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply. E-mail notifications don't work very well.
I have a 96 Jetta GLS 5-speed 2.0 with 93k original miles. The body has only a few small dents. One is located on the fender, about a half dollar size. The other, a small slight dent in the door. It's an even flat dent so it should be able to be pulled. The rear bumper has a small dent in it from when the previous owner backed into a small pole. The sunroof works electronically but does not close all the way on one side. IT DOES NOT LEAK. I'm sure something is just in the way. The a/c works great on all fan speeds. The heat does not work. (Heater core.) The transmission has been replaced along with: clutch, shift linkage, brake master cylinder, alternator, crankshaft sensor, coil pack, plugs, wires, distributor, cap + rotor. I replaced the starter with a junkyard one. The engine runs strong, no issues with power. The valve cover gasket is leaking a SMALL bit of oil. The ignition switch is on its way out. I will be steadily replacing parts as I go along which may increase the price a little. All four (at least to my knowledge) [or at least a few] of the window regulators and motors are missing. --I haven't taken all of the door panels off. The previous owner decided to take them out because the windows were not working. The interior is in great condition. The seats aren't torn and the carpet is spotless. I do not have the floor mats however. :sly: The stereo head unit does not work. It may just need to be re-wired. It is an aftermarket stereo. It is currently sitting on a set of 14" snowflakes. I am replacing the driver side cv axle very soon, so that will be taken care of. The car needs a brake job on the rear. I replaced the pads and rotors in the front and all have even wear. (I downshift, so I don't use the brakes at all) The calipers were rebuilt. (Not due to malfunction but for preventative maintenance.) I do not drive the card hard at all. I have been babying it due to trying to get it fully taken care of. (Maintenance) I am a college student so I am limited on funds. It's difficult with rent. I'm asking $2500 as-is right now. The price may fluctuate as I replace parts. First one with cash gets it. I can send pictures through e-mail.
