For those that do not know us, welcome and I hope we have a chance to meet you in person someday! Achtuning is owned by Hartmann Wheels and we specialize in VW and Audi performance upgrades, supplying nationwide distributors and retail customers like you with quality parts by APR, H&R, StopTech, Neuspeed, and of course Hartmann Wheels. We are located in Redmond, Washington just south of the Willows Golf Course and very close to the Microsoft Campus. If you plan to stop by for a visit, we are open between 9am and 6pm Monday through Friday. This thread has been created with the intention of putting everything Golf R related here at ACHTUN!NG in one thread for your convenience. Discussion, pictures, product releases, sales, etc... We're going to put it all here, very similar to our Shop Life thread. We welcome your participation and questions!
The image above and links below will direct you to the Achtuning website where you can start browsing our online store.
The factory version IMO is too aggressive, especially with a 235 tire. If it's the style you're after the most I'd suggest the Hartmann version that has more of a Golf R friendly offset.

H&R sent us a second set of coil-overs to test on the Golf R on Friday. After the first test n' tune session we felt we could use something a little stiffer and the H&R RSS Club Sport coil-over kit is designed for the committed motorsport enthusiast who is willing to relinquish some ride comfort in return for ultimate handling performance. After installation we threw the Golf R on our alignment rack for corner-balancing before heading to the Test N' Tune session on Saturday.
The stiffer suspension helped shave seconds off already good lap times so we are very pleased with the results, though we'd definitely not recommend the set-up for the typical street-driven car. We're communicating our feedback with H&R and there's talks of an Achtuning-exclusive coil-over kit that might offer a good balance for both street and track. Stay tuned...
i'd have to agree. i just threw the H&R premiums on last saturday morning (thanks, Achtuning!), and really like the ride. not too stiff, not to soft. actually more comfortable than the H&R cup kit i have on my MKV GTI.
^ On behalf of everyone in here with headlight leveling concerns, thanks for putting that link in here.
Sorry, we don't have anything "published" that we can even share honestly. We're also going to be testing at least two other suspension kits on this car (one already en route) so we'll be doing that all over again.
have you had any issues with the hpfp? im considering getting one along with an apr intake and exhaust when its available. Just waiting to put a few more miles on her.
btw, great color choice, we went with a 4 door base CW as well!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately! There hasn't been anything new to report except that Bill has been taking his Golf R to Pacific Raceways every weekend for their Test N' Tune events and putting it through the paces, giving a good number of high-powered cars a run for their money! All parts have been holding up well and we've had no issues whatsoever. On a good day he'll get about 250 track miles in and burn through about 3 tanks of gas! Of the 1700 total miles on it, 1300 or so are on the track.
Oh, and word is the APR "Stage 4" motor being built which we intended to put into the Achtuning A3 is now going into the Golf R... opcorn:
We're currently running StopTech's Sport Brake upgrade which replaces the factory rotors, pads, and lines. The Sport kit has slotted rotors (what we typically stock on the shelf) and comes with StopTech's Street Performance brake pads which are ideal for both street and track use, offering much better bite than factory as well as low dust and no noise. A StopTech Big Brake Kit with Trophy calipers are currently in the works.
No, I mean those good looking silver stoptech 4 piston calipers in your post. I spoke with stoptech a while back and they said they were waiting to hear from you guys to see how the big brakes would fit on the R spindles. People imply that they should fit, but I haven't in fact seen anyone put them on their cars yet. Looking forward to hearing when a stoptech BB kit will fit the R.
Hey Dion, I've been looking at some of the Hartmann wheels and I was wondering if you had the weights off hand for the B7 HRS4-252-SS (18 and 19) and I saw on your Facebook page today you guys should be getting some of the HTT-256-MA:M with an ET that will fit a Golf. I was curious about the weight on those too.
