we are heading out for weekend one! not sure how i feel about the double weekend thing, tbh i bet they could have gotten a different lineup with only one weekend. the headliners imo do not knock my socks off.

I've never been to Coachella and this year will be no different. Each year there is 2-3 bands, tops, that I'd want to see on each of the three days and I don't have the money right now to throw at a weekend pass.

Plus, that's way too many people and too much of a crowd for me. And it's too damn hot.

it is ridiculously hot, but the crowd should be less this year with two weekends. and honestly, the crowd was not that bad last year.

i'm not thrilled with the headliners, but there is a **** ton of acts i am dying to see. for me it's also about the experience, not just the music!

Couple acts I'd drive a short distance to see.. A few I'd see if they were playing next door.. but mostly an indie snooze fest with a dab of uninteresting electronica..

Lineups like this make it easy for me to decide to not go ....

3 or 4 bands I'd love to see per day and a lot of meh.

I went in '06, '07 and '08 and had a blast each year but I think I'm past this festival.

We're staying at the La Quinta resort. It's pretty amazing. Lots of celebs. I ate breakfast across from Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine) in 2010. My crowning achievement though was meeting Mike Patton in 2010. My hero. My girlfriend and I are in love with La Quinta.

We have some friends from Texas who're camping and we'll be partying with them lots. I love partying in the campsites, but we adore being able to go back to the resort at the end of the night and smoke blunts in the hot tub under the stars. ****ing magical.

i don't think you can get to the campsites unless you are a camper anymore. or have a companion pass. camping is the best part of coachella! crazy after parties and i get to mist in the early afternoon. party tent misters ftw.

Crazy. I had no idea. We had no problems getting in the last two years. I'll see what I can do about getting some sort of pass for it. Thanks for the heads up.

I love the valley in April. It's a massive party for a 50 mile radius, if not more. There were parties as far as Palm Springs last year. What an incredible experience.

yeah, this year has like crazy rules... like your camping pass is tied to your ticket order, so if you bought more than 1 ticket, your camping pass is only valid with the first ticket scanned of the group. so if you sell one of your tickets to a rando, who knows what will happen... and this also eliminates selling of car camping passes as well this year.

The rest makes me yawn. And I think I would refuse to attend any festival that The Sheepdogs play at. Way too retro for my liking. Might as well listen to CCR, at least they have better songs.

Nope, we have Roger Waters at the end of May, followed by Van Halen a week later. Those two shows will be far better.

passes with car camping for 1st weekend completely sold out in presale. only weekend one passes avail were the shuttle ones... and weekend 1 sold out in 30 minutes.

That would be cool but I'm flying in to LA and renting a car for the week. In 2010 we rented a Camaro, in 2011 a Mustang and I think this year we're doing a Corvette so I'll probably be tearing it up.

we did that last year... we will again this year. also, i wouldn't bring any car that you wouldn't want to get scratched or sat on. you never know what happens when you are not around. rental cars ftw.

i think we will have at least 10 cars this year. the trick is to keep them all together.

I went on a mission to go to Coachella in 2005, rented a car, stayed 2 hours away from the venue in Indio (Hotel was in Temecula which was 3 hours away from the L.A. airport) but it was well worth it!

I'll eventually get back out to one, but its getting pretty impossible to get tickets these days.
