Mine doesn't have one. And I've hit 110 in it.

And AFAIK, only the GLI's do in the Jetta lineup. See the manual as to what it says for the TDI.

Their is a beep if the temp drops below 4 degrees, VW and many other car makers do this to warn the driver of potential black ice conditions.

If you or the dealership turn on the snow tires setting in the MFD , there will also be another beep if you exceed the speed set (which you can change)

Do you guys do this ?
Does it really make a difference ?

On a side note, I noticed that the design of the hood prevents the driver's side wiper from being lift up completely. wtf.

What's the weight of a 17 inch OEM Joda wheel which comes with the Jetta?
This wheel is also known as "Queensland" outside of the US.

I can't find OEM wheel weights for the MK6 Jetta anywhere.

    Nah, it isn't worth it.

And if you turn the key off and tap the wiper stalk either down or towards you, it turns the wipers to a full vertical position so you can fully lift the arms.

I just removed the plastic tether, so I can just remove the cap completely, and set it aside, and not having to worry about it dropping and hanging against the side of the car.

How do you jack up the rear of the car, and put it on jackstands, without damaging anything?

You wipers need to be put into Service Mode in order to remove the wiper blades, well they don't NEED to be, but to get to service mode, turn off the car and tap the wiper stalk down once before you pull out the key. The wipers will make half a sweep and stop. This will allow you to move the wiper arm without hitting the hood.

if you look closely at the rocker panel there is a dimple in each corner where you should jack up the car. make sure you put the jack on the pinch weld not on the rocker panel itself. the pinch weld will be thicker at this spot. put the jack stands under the rear axle.

And use a wooden block between the jack pad and pinch weld to prevent crushing the weld.

did you happen to try this. I noticed the issue this morning when I tried to lift my blades at work. Of course, came back to read here. I will have to try at lunch.

Multi-function display. It's the one in the centre of the gauge cluster.

My Jetta is the first car I've owned that had a gas cap tether. I've almost snapped it off a few times because I'm not used to it being there. It'll probably get clipped soon.

Thanks! I knew that it had to be something really, really basic.

Wow, I can't remember the last car that I had that didn't have a gas cap teather. Maybe the '82 Civic that I owned.

Any way to disable the temperature warning? It is so irritating to hear it beep just because it went from 40 degrees to 39. It wouldn't be so bad if it would return to the desired display info I had it on once it is done chiming. I have been meaning to check my manual but always forget once I get home from work. Probably a vcds change huh?

What's the reason for the gas cap tether? Is that part supposed
to be anchored into the car, and it's just popping out
and sticking to gas cap? Do I need to go to
    the dealer?

Fog lights - How do I turn them on?

My switch has 3 positions, on, off and Lights with squiggly lines on it - I think it is the fogs. But my switch will only go in two positions. On & off, it will not budge into the fog position....

Pull the knob towards you. It never actually turns to those squiggly lines but that is how the fogs are activated

The fogs can only be turned on with the headlights on, so as azthegame said, you have to pull the switch out with the headlights on. The foglight "position" will then light up to let you know the fogs are on.

That was the first question where I was hoping someone would have let him sweat it out a little just for kicks. It's just like when I couldn't figure out how to close the sunroof from the tilt position. I tried everything from twisting and turning and pushing but nothing would do it. I wanted someone to slap me when I was told you have to pull it in the opposite direction of how you push it. Was so bad on my part it was funny.

Same here. I'm glad someone beat me to it.

Also kind of surprised he didn't break his switch.

I lost one of my key fobs the other day? What is the process I should go through? I am unsure of where it is and am afraid someone may find it and be able to access my car.

    A. Is there a way to disable the key fob from the dealership by telling them the serial number?
    B. Do I need to get a new set of keys with a different frequency?
    C. Something else?

    Thanks

    A. Is there a way to disable the key fob from the dealership by telling them the serial number?
    B. Do I need to get a new set of keys with a different frequency?
    C. Something else?
Dealer can de-program all the keys to the car and then reprogram your other key and any new ones you get cut.
