I work two buildings over from Parts Score. Saw Josh's A3 sitting out front, so I stopped by to check it out. Just to rub it in...I saw the bumpers/trim painted last week @ Josh's place.

I will get to finally see it on Friday and hopefully help put some stuff together on it.

I finally got to see the car in person today. It is at Parts Score, the shop doing the mechanical work.

the pics will show it's current state. Jason that is working on it was up until 2am this morning pulling the dashes out of both the GTI and the Cabrio so both cars look like a bomb went off.

I have to say, in person, the color is AMAZING!!! Josh the painter will need to come back and wet sand/ buff it out after most of the mechanical work is done, but overall the car looks amazing. His welding and smoothing can't be detected and the quality of the paint work is awesome. he really did a good job and the extra time he had it was worth it.

I know the aftermarket bumpers fit like dogsheit but that rear is just resting there or something right?

The color is really neat... I know of what seems to be the last 6 sets of Hella smoked tails to match your headlights - I bought 2 sets and Henry bought 1 - They are about $260 a set shipped and take 10 days or so from the UK.

Please tell me your are painting the rockers back to black.

yeah you take the yearly approach of car building, eventually it gets done, eventually . Wasn't Henry's blue car supposed to be done and drivable by "sunday" 6 weeks ago? i know i know he changed plans, just f'n with ya.

and i've had my bumpers for less than 6 weeks and both of them are painted, and one of them is partially on the car. i like to get my junk done and useable. but you have other cars that take priority, i know.

I like those tail lights a lot, but i don't want to spend that much money on lights. not now at least.

Nope - the last of the engine parts just came back from Swain Tech - Teflon and Thermal Barrier is so pretty... and I scored some unobtainium Cabrio PZwo mirrors from Mr. Hayes... That was the last of it.. all parts secured - now if the 20ish customer cars would go away and someone would give me about 10K to cover my monthly salary and overhead I could spend about a month on my car.

this heat shield is 1 of only 3 NEW ones at dealerships in the country. all 3 just happend to be here in Phoenix and it was delivered to my dealership just a few hours later. score


and i got this on eBay. a MINT condition black boot top cover.. double score

That's because we ordered them and they got the wrong ones in by mistake. That's for a 2L.. VR6 firewall shields cover the whole firewall. We bought the last 3 VR6 covers in the country.

i needed anything to cover up the area instead of using the crappy looking one from the GTI. plus i didn't want all the fuzzy stuff on the sides, we would have cut that off anyhow. just needed this piece.
