Well the time has come, i believe its time to sell my scirocco :/. reason for sale is I bought a R32 last fall and i just plain don't drive this anymore. Plus my work schedule prevents me from ever hitting track days or auto-x events. So rather than just let it sit i would love for someone to buy it and use it like it was intended . I LOVE this car and it is a total blast to drive on any curvy roads. it has been driven once since August and aside from clearing the bad gas out of it, after that it drove no problem. I will be putting gas and heet in the tank this weekend to prevent that from happening again.

A little back story about this car. I bought it from Jodi Doyle(vwjodi) in April 2010. He had bought it from a friend who use to race it and unfortunately crashed it into a tree. Jodi rebuilt the car from the strut towers forward and it came out flawless. He also pulled and rebuilt the engine. the build can be seen here http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...3742832/page43 and it details all of his work. The car HAS A CLEAN TITLE!!!!

now onto the details

car has approx 135k miles on the chassis. speedo/odometer stopped working at ~127k miles. NEVER been driven in snow.
Car has been spray painted satin black. when i got it it had mis-matched fenders/hood because of the rebuild. i decided to say FUKC it and paint it black.
Front fenders have been cut to fit the wheels better.

Needs:

up to date harness
speedo that works
occasionally bogs on cold starts right after starting. i always let it idle and rev it a few times to clear it out.
Tiny rust spot on the hatch. but CLEAN shell, no rust on the underside or anything. One fender has a tiny bit of rust inside, but i got it off a different car. i do have a spare fender that hasn't been painted which has NO rust.

I drove the car as a DD over the summer with NO problems. Only questionable thing is the Jegs racing fans do not pull a ton of air, so in traffic it starts to get a little hot. but has NEVER overheated. it has NEVER left me stranded

Shouldn't be a problem at all making the trip. I drove it to and from H20I in 2010 which is 10 hours each way from buffalo.

And since it's the middle of winter currently it doesn't leave my driveway. So let me know when you get $$ if you're still interested.

this thing is slicker than snot. gotta give it to ya for building it right man. my sister just sold me her 03 jetta and i got a feeling she'd be a wee bit mad if i sold it and made a profit on the sweet deal she gave me, and got another scirocco id kill to have this! are you sure your not gonna regret it? i had two roccos, sold two roccos, and regretted it twice haha. viel gluck!

Honestly I'll probably regret it some day. I really love the car, it's so much fun. But now I'm in R32 heaven and don't want to drive anything else. But for now I could do better things with the money. My woman need a ring and my R32 needs cams haha.

How long ago was that? I've had the car since 2010. Before that it was in Vermont for 15+ years.

There is a clean black one that roams around niagara falls now but usually just sits parked.

I bought it in Vestal in 1990, started at Buff State in 1991, Transferred over to UB in 1993, finished school in 1996 and left to move South Jan of 97. It was there with me the whole time along with my silver 83 GTi that I used for winter. The main ones I remember seeing where black. There was a guy that lived around UB South Campus with a black one with leather. There was also a silver one with euro lights and bumpers that I'd see every once in a while on Elmwood, typically having dinner but I never got to talk to that guy.
