A lot of people use stage 8. Nothing compares if you don't want to vband then stage 8 is what you want

those look nice, but i have no problem with Nordlocks and all-steel lock nuts personally. they dont come loose on my solid mounted car.

I'm using S4 2.7T exhaust nuts with tapered washers from an Evo. Never had an issue in 4 years of use. I got both from the dealers, 7 nuts and washers were ~$20.

i am all vband, but the manifold, tial gate and vband adapter flange will need bolts

I've never had problems with even normal nuts. Over 2 years I've yet to have a nut work its way loose (knock on wood).

go buy some exhaust repair putty, put a dab on each bolt. they will never come off unless you take them off. sold at autozone for about 6 bux. way easier than buying new hardware

This is what I have. It came in a small bottle. All you do is stir it with something and apply. Put the cap back on when you're done and you'll have PLENTY for other jobs. I used a tiny amount. Says its good to 2000+ degrees as you can see. Mine has always held up fine and it does come off really easy with a tap or 2 from a flat head screwdriver and hammer. I've never had a problem removing it either.

This is EXACTLY the solution I have been looking for I am going to give it a try. My bolts blow out
REGULARLY with my ATP eliminator...it has a really poorly designed up pipe that REFUSES to stay locked down tight, and its always blowing turbo to manifold gaskets and smelling up my ride with exhaust fumes.
I'm tired of bi weekly tightening sessions or Nightly tightening if Im racing the car. I tried lock tight....new bolts locking flanges, copper gasket maker... and was looking at nordlocks but this is readily available at my local auto parts store. So far NOTHING has worked to keep these fawkers from backing out!
Going to pick some up and give it a try...I feel stupid I never thought about this yet, I was actually considering tac welding them LOL
Will report back on how it holds up in a few months!
Feeling pretty positive about it though!![]()

I am also having issues keeping the bolts on my frankenturbo tight. I recently replaced the two bolts that were accessable with harder bolts and nordlocks, and it seems like that isn't doing the trick either. Since I couldn't remove the bolt closest to the head without taking off the manifold, I tried the exhaust putty trick. After a few weeks it doesn't seem to have moved, and I think I am going to tighten up the bolts w/ nordlocks that I replaced one last time and use the exhaust putty on those.
I'm really sick of this, so I hope the putty really works.![]()

My issues ceased once I got my BFI mounts on all three points. I was running the trans and dogbone mounts for a good 2-3 years and still had issues. Once I got the passenger mount in, they stopped loosening up. The mounts weren't even bad when they were replaced.
Right now I'm just running a stud/nut with a nordlock with no issues.

Well folks, I'm now officially a believer. After a week of driving, and I did my best to drive hard here and there, bolts have not moved and the putty is solid and holding strong. I would have had to tighten my bolts by now.![]()

im sorry but the whole exhaust putty on the bolts just looks hillbilly. why not upgrade the hardware....if you can afford going bt $50 shouldn't break the bank.![]()

I just dropped some permatex high temp thread sealant on my bolts. It's been a couple of weeks now and they are still snug
